10 Empowering Actions You Can Start Today

October 29th, 2010 - By Anthony Jerrod

In today’s fast-paced world, many individuals are so consumed by the busy-ness of life that they forget to take time to empower themselves, as well as others in their everyday microcosm. Empowerment is a very robust term, but I think that most would agree that it is a process whereby one spiritually, socially, politically and/or economically strengthens oneself, as well as other individuals without expecting anything in return.

Genuine empowerment of others requires compassion, unselfishness, love and service. In life, we can choose to live selfishly, or, we can opt to live abundantly, while helping others realize that they are victors and champions despite their circumstances, that they are somebody, that they can make it, that they can love and be confident in their abilities, etc. Oftentimes, individuals think that they cannot empower others, but there are many small things that you can do to brighten someone’s day. If you already engage in such activities, then your wonderful actions should be commended. If not, here at least ten little, inexpensive things you can start implementing on a consistent basis to add value to other people’s lives.

As a female muslim I couldn't help but notice that most of what you have suggested to do are actions that are not only encouraged but are given importance, and as muslims we aim to achieve them on a regular basis.

    Thank you for the reminder.
