When Are Y’all Getting Married?! Engaged Celebs With No Wedding Date in Sight
Usually the first question a couple gets asked after they get engaged is “when is the wedding date!?” While some couples make wedding plans right away, others simply want to take it in and savor the moment. For celebrity couples, this may be even more true, since we all know that Hollywood marriages tend to last a hot minute. While we respect a couple’s right to take their time, there are some couples that have been together for what seems like FOREVER, and we wonder if they’ll ever make it down the aisle. Whether it’s because a baby is on the way, they want to do it right or there simply is no rush, we wonder if we’ll be hearing wedding bells in 2013 for the following couples.
Jennifer Hudson & David Otunga
Maybe she’s been too busy singing Weight Watchers commercials, but after a nearly four-year engagement, these two don’t seem to want to get married any time soon. It was reported that Jennifer was having second thoughts about marrying David, especially following the stressful time after her mother, brother, and nephew were murdered. During the trial of her now ex brother-in-law who was convicted of the murders, she got cold feet and didn’t feel she could go on with it. However, she realized that she couldn’t have gotten through that time without Otunga and has called him her “rock.” With the trial now behind her, sources say she’s ready to start planning a wedding again. Hey, given everything she’s gone through, I think she’s earned the right to take her time and do it right….when she’s ready.
Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson
After ending her marriage to Nick Lachey, we’ve seen Jessica juggle a few relationships before finally finding happiness with Eric Johnson. The two quickly took things to the next level, got engaged, and in May, the couple welcomed daughter Maxwell. Next came the Weight Watchers deal, in which Simpson would show the world that she too could drop the baby weight – losing a reported 50 lbs. But here’s the kicker – Jessica is pregnant again! This is one fertile woman, and now that baby number two is on the way, she may set her wedding plans in full gear! Sources say Simpson wants to be married before the second baby comes and doesn’t care if she’s showing in the wedding photos. There are reports that she and Eric may be planning a secret wedding in Hawaii over the Christmas holiday, so we’ll just have to wait and see….
Jim Jones & Chrissy Lampkin
I don’t know what the deal is with these two. I mean, you can tell they love each other, but something is just “off.” After they got their spinoff from Love and Hip Hop, I was hoping to gain some clarity into what makes “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” tick – but to no avail. First, she proposed to him, he said yes…and then nothing happened. Then he kinda sorta proposed to her, she said yes, and still…nothing. She seems to have a problem with Jim not bringing his a** home, working late in the studio, and not taking her and their relationship seriously, only for her to threaten to leave, but then stay in hopes that he figures it out and gets it together. It’s exhausting, but I guess it makes for decent TV. If they get a second season, we’ll see if she’s finally ready to marry her man of several years and take him as he is, because she isn’t getting any younger and it doesn’t look like he’s changing any time soon.
LeBron James & Savannah Brinson
NBA super star LeBron James proposed to his high school sweetheart Savannah Brinson last New Year’s Eve, after a decade long relationship and two children together. This past summer, Brinson was spotted shopping for wedding dresses in NYC, which is the only inkling we got that they were actually planning a wedding. But it’s been pretty quiet since then, and with the NBA season under way, I wonder if they’ll be able to squeeze in any nuptials any time soon while King James tries to defend his title. But hey, after being together for 10 years and having two kids, is there really any rush? She’s holding him down and taking care of the kids and it doesn’t like he’s going anyway, so why stress it? Get the season over with, maybe win another championship and then see what the summer of 2013 holds.
Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie
As one of Hollywood’s most talked about couples, it seems as if Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been toying with our emotions when it comes to a wedding. At one time, they said they would not get married until everyone, gay or straight, is afforded that same right in the country. But, after their children pressured them into the idea of marriage, Brad said that it just felt like it was time, so they got engaged. That’s all we’ve heard, and the paparazzi and tabloids are monitoring their every move waiting to see when this infamous couple will walk down the aisle. Maybe they’re afraid that they’ll suffer some sort of marriage karma since Brad
cheated on and left divorced his wife for Angelina, and now they’re being extra careful. I think it’s okay though. They have six children together and are married in spirit if nothing else, so the wedding would just make it legal, not necessary.
Halle Berry & Olivier Martinez
With Halle’s track record when it comes to men and marriages, it’s no wonder the Oscar winning actress vowed never to marry again. But then came Olivier Martinez, and I guess he convinced her to take her chances with him. The couple got engaged over the holidays last year, but don’t seem to be rushing things. And can you blame them? Berry and her ex, Gabriel Aubry are involved in a bitter custody battle over their daughter Nahla, so they really don’t have time to be thinking about flowers and dresses right about now. Berry tried to get a judge to grant her sole custody so she could move her child to France to be with Martinez, but that plan failed. The judge denied her request, so they may have to go with Plan B as far as living arrangements are concerned…if there are even any plans in the works. And after Martinez beat up Aubry over the Thanksgiving holiday, the two may need to try to cool things down before planning a wedding. Given that Halle has said in the past that she has a “bad picker,” and men have said that Halle is…well…”crazy,” both would be wise to take their time and make sure the third time’s a charm for Halle.
John Legend & Chrissy Teigen
Okay, so this couple hasn’t been engaged THAT long, but it’s been almost a year since the couple got engaged on December 27th of 2011 yet it feels like they’ve been together forever–since 2007 in fact. Sources say that the wait could almost be over though! Insiders reveal that John and Chrissy will be getting married in January of 2013 in North Carolina. This is all speculation of course, but we’ll know soon as the new year is fast approaching. If the wedding doesn’t happen in January, it’s no biggie. Are people really checking for them like that? Either way, we wish them the best!
Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick
I can’t say that I keep up with the Kardashians much, but you’d have to pretty much be living under a rock if you didn’t know anything about the sometimey relationship between Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick. What she sees in him is a mystery to me, and well…we all know what he sees in her — MONEY…as well as her pretty face and personality, yada, yada, yada. I’m not even sure if they are, or ever were engaged, but the couple has been together for years and have two children together. But given their dysfunction, Kourtney seems to be the holdout, telling sources close to the family that she has rejected his proposal and doesn’t want to be married to him. Ouch! That must sting, but Kourtney’s no fool, and I’m sure a divorce and paying alimony to a wannabe isn’t appealing to her at all. Let’s see how long he gets to ride on the Kardashian Koattails.
Michael Jordan & Yvette Prieto
I’m surprised Michael Jordan would ever want to get married again after his ex-wife Juanita took him for half his worth in their divorce settlement. But like most fools in love, Michael is ready and willing to try again after three years of dating his Cuban-American model. And make no mistake, it’s not like the man is broke, so money isn’t the issue. Let’s just hope he’s really ready to settle down and isn’t being played the fool by his young fianceeYvette whom he proposed to over the holidays last year. Can you say “pre-nup”?
Amber Rose & Wiz Khalifa
Following her breakup with Kanye West, Amber Rose began dating Wiz Khalifa in early 2011. After about a year of dating, they announced their engagement via Twitter, with Wiz posting a flick of a fat rock on her ring finger. And just a few short months later at the VMA’s, Amber and Wiz confirmed that they were expecting their first child. Their love story seems to be unfolding beautifully, and rumors are circulating that they could be married as soon as February or March of 2013, since the baby is due soon after. I just want to see what a bald baby Wiz looks like. Adorable I’m sure!
