Looks like there was a lot of wedding cheer being spread this weekend. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and his girlfriend and mother of his two children Candice Williams were married on Friday.
According to USA Today, he posted the following on his Facebook page:
“Last night I married my best friend and the love of my life. Our son gave her away and our daughter looked like a miniature version of my beautiful bride as she stood next to her. I’m a lucky, lucky man. Thank you God for all of your blessings and for showing me such amazing favor.”
Beautiful, right? The only thing is that last month, Suggs allegedly punched Williams in the neck and dragged her alongside the care he was driving. Their children were allegedly in the car at the time. In fact, she just removed an order of protected she filed in November after she said he hit her in September. They even went to court to make some determinations about custody of their children.
So not only has he allegedly been abusive to her but this 6’3″ and 260 pound man has done so in front of their children. These stories were not just on sports news and in sports pages but on the regular news. Their relationship history has been public for quite some time. Suggs’ attorney denied those allegations and says that in the interest of the children, they’ve moved on and have resolved their personal issues.
In wishing them the best in their marriage, hopefully someone gifted them some counseling because it doesn’t sound like they’re starting this new chapter on the good foot.
By the way, TMZ has an exclusive shot of the “happy” couple on their wedding day and are also reporting they’re planning a huge celebration once the football season ends.
