Where You Been!? Singer JoJo Covers Andre 3000’s “Prototype”…And Kills It
Last time most of us saw JoJo like that, she was a mere teenager with a strong voice singing “Too Little Too Late.” That was 2006. Since then, JoJo has been under the radar, doing a little bit of film and TV work, dropping mixtapes and dealing with constant label conflict. She even has a new mixtape coming out allegedly on December 20, her birthday, called Agápē. But aside from that, with her being out of sight, babygirl has kind of been out of our minds. But I couldn’t help but stop and pay attention when she put out this new video of herself and an amazing guitarist performing a cover of Andre 3000’s, “Prototype,” off of the The Love Below album. It’s one of my favorite songs so I thought I could take three minutes out of my time and check it out. She was killing it! I mean, JoJo’s pitch was perfect, the performance was smooth, and I could even appreciate how she threw Cole Porter’s “Night And Day” into the mix to change it up and make the whole thing more romantic and sentimental. This chick still has one of the best voices out there, and hopefully sometime soon she’ll be able to get ish together with Interscope and finally get to put out a new album, because folks are truly missing out. Check out video of the singer putting her own touch on one of our favorite Andre 3-stacks tracks and let us know what you think!
