We currently live in the age of reality television where any and everyone can get a reality show, even those who are seemingly unworthy of one. However every once in a while, you hear about the possibility of a reality show and go “hmm, now that would be interesting.” According to TMZ, the sons of the legendary members of iconic rap groups Run-DMC and N.W.A are seeking to star in a new reality show entitled “Seeds of Hip-Hop”, which is currently being shopped around to major television networks such as VH1, TV-One, FUSE TV and BET.
If picked up, the show is said to follow the lives of Dr. Dre’s son Curtis Young, Eazy E’s son Eric Lynn Wright Jr., MC Ren’s son Anthony Dunbar, E’40’s son Droop-E, and Jam Master Jay’s son Jason Mizell. All of the young men are said to be in their twenties and are in some form or fashion seeking to make it big, while not being consumed by the enormous shadows of their famous fathers.
It is being reported that the show’s visionary is music producer D’Extra Wiley who was a member of 90’s R&B group II D Extreme. It has also been said that producers behind the show are extremely confident that it will be picked up by a network and are planning to start filming next month.
It seems as if this show has the makings of a great and entertaining reality show as many probably wonder what has become of the children of these Hip-Hop legends. One can only hope that the ratchet meter for this show won’t be as turned up as it is for most other popular reality shows that are on the air these days. One thought though- what about JoJo Simmons, Reverend Run’s son? How come he isn’t in the line-up? I’m reaching? Oh, okay.
What do you think of the storyline? Will you watch?
