Last month, actress Tamara Mowry-Houseley gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Aden and considering the fact that Tamera is a first-time mom, we figured that once the highly anticipated bundle of joy arrived, the questions would begin rolling in. Luckily for Tamera, she has her twin sister Tia, who gave birth a mere 16 months before her, to teach her the ropes. In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Tia discussed some of the questions Tamera has had and how she’s been showing her twinsie the ropes.

On breastfeeding:

“The first thing, she was like ‘oh my goodness, how do you do this breastfeeding? It’s difficult, it’s hard, and it hurts! I’m like ‘just stay with it. Everything will be fine.”

On getting sleep with a newborn around:

‘I’ve also given her the advice of ‘sleep when the baby sleeps,’ because, like me, we want to make sure everything is tidied up around the house and in the kitchen and with the clothes. I’m like ‘Tamera, you just have to let them pile up a little bit, and sleep when your baby sleeps, because if you don’t, you will be a walking zombie.’”

While Tia equipping her sister with tips and tricks on motherhood has the tendency to make a person feel all warm and fuzzy inside, the most adorable part of the interview had to be when she revealed her son Cree’s reaction to meeting his new cousin.

“He loves him,” she says. “The first time he saw him, he let out a gasp. He went ‘uhhh!’ I thought that was so freaking adorable. And then I show him pictures of his little cousin, and he’ll just look at it. I’ll take the phone away, and he doesn’t want me to take the phone away. He’s mesmerized by Aden. My sister and I, we think that they’re going to be best friends, and they’re going to turn on us. [laughs] They’re going to be crazy! [laughs]”

How ridiculously, unbearably adorable!

I love Tia and Tamera. And that last part about Cree was so sweet! I’m sure they will be closer than cousins and more like brothers.

Omg!! That last part was the cutest thing ever!! Awww!!!

I watch their show religiously! It’s the only reality show I can watch(no drama). The only thing I haven’t liked is watching Tia tell her sister she can’t take the pain of a natural birth and other things about her pregnancy. I think she added extra stress for Tamera by reminding her of all the things that went wrong in her own pregnancy. I found my self constantly yelling at Tia to shut up about her experience when it was visibly upsetting her sister. (or it could’ve just been the editing on the show.) I can’t imagine how she is now that the baby is here. *sn* I love their cousin Jerome on the show. And their family dynamic

I think Tia was telling her because she knows how Tamera is about details. I think she wanted Tamera to realize (as I’m sure she does now) that despite the best of plans, childbirth is very individual and is uncontrollable.

In addition, Tia’s birth experience is very fresh in her mind so she can’t help but share. I have a 7 month old and it’s hard not to talk about a recent experience that changed your life.

It was 16 months ago. lol Why is it still that fresh on her mind? I was getting annoyed too. This was about what Tamera wanted, not about what happened to Tia. It’s hard for some people, but I only told my pregnant friends about my experience if they asked. Even then, I only answered the question they asked. No extra, unnecessary info.

IMO, I think there is no one better than a sister to serve you the lowdown. In the end, Tamera wouldn’t have to say “Oh my gosh, you didn’t tell me that, Tia!”

That is true. My older sister did talk me to death about her experience once I got pregnant lol Eventho, mine was completely different from hers, I knew she was coming from a good place. If my younger sister ever has a kid, I will leave all the stories to my older sister tho lol
