Throwback time! I know you remember “Boogie Oogie Oogie” by Taste of Honey! It’s a certified jam that used to get people on the dance floor, as well as the on the skating rink floor. A truly talented group with Janice-Marie Johnson and Carlita Dorhan on the guitar and bass and lead vocals, they had jams for days. Even if you don’t like disco, I’m pretty sure you can groove to this morning jam, especially because it’s Fri-dizzle! Enjoy!

I forget where I heard this story, but prior to 1978 the band was small time and went out to a military base to do a show. Apparently the soldiers weren’t feeling it, so the lead singer Hazel Payne had to tell the crowd, “If you think you’re too good to boogie, boy oh boy have I got news for you.” The drummer Donald Ray Johnson heard that and thought it’d be awesome on wax. And it was.
