Did You Know They Were BFFs Before The Fame? Celebs We Didn’t Know Were Homies Before They Made It

Rosie Perez & Tupac

Jada Pinkett Smith wasn’t the only little lady that Tupac left a spot in his heart for, strictly on the friendship tip (or as far as we know). Actress and choreographer Rosie Perez had a tight bond with Pac that got misconstrued by the public as a romantic relationship. She has refuted that claim. The two met while she was putting together moves for Heavy D and while he was dancing in the background with Digital Underground. He respected her hustle as one of the few female hip-hop choreographers out, and they blossomed after the fact. She even recalled a time with XXL when her date to the Soul Train Awards in ’93 bailed on her at the last minute and Pac stepped in and held her down:

This guy I was suppose to go with to the Music Awards bailed out on me at the last minute. Pac called up to say hi and to ask if I had extra tickets. And I was like, ‘This motherf**king motherf**ker fucking f**k!’ He was like, ‘F**k this motherf**ker. Let me go up in there with you. Come on.’ He said, ‘Let’s go together. And, let’s hold hands and let that motherf**ker see you on the screen. F**k him. Watch how crazy I am.’

Well isn’t that something out of Cinderella or what? And on a sidenote, Pac was also very good friends with Jasmine Guy, whom he met through her “Different World” co-star, Jada Pinkett.
