Well, I’m looking at the expression of the child in the background……he looks like he sees Elmo in a whole new way. In fact, none of the children look happy. I guess image is everything. * shrug *

It’s very hard to believe people when they only come out after other people have made statements. Are they truly victims or looking for a settlement. Also most of it sounds like consensual sex and I feel like a 16 year old has enough sense to decide if they want to start a relationship with someone. I bet they jumped at it because Clash had money.

It does not matter wether or not a 16 year old has enough sense. According to the law, sex with a minor is prohibited, and therefore mr Kevin Clash, if he did have sex with minors, should be punished.

It does matter because sex laws very by state. In my state it’s a 4 year difference. As long as the parties are within 4 years of each other, it’s legal. So a 16 and 20 could be together. If I’m not mistaken, a 20 yesr old is an adult so in my state Clash would have a better defense.

Actually, other people’s words give victims the strength to reveal abuse. If Mr. Clash has been working at this job for over 25 years he has had money for some time, so there is no reason to all of a sudden cash in. What is being revealed is the lifestyle of the former puppeteer for Elmo, and the legality of it. Keep in mind that some sixteen-year-olds may come from homes where abuse is regular, but these relationships may seem like love to them. I have a brother who was adopted, but before he was adopted, he lived with a foster-parent whose nephew him when he was three ( this story didn’t come out until he was 12). Well, as soon as my brother graduated from high school, he chose the g-a-y life ( wanted to leave at 16) because he wanted to feel like he did as the 3-year-old ( his words). People make their own choices, and this one was his; but abuse was the precursor. He has HIV now.

Sorry….it should read ” whose nephew r-a-p-e-d him.” Someone was talking to me while I typed.
