Lady Luck: 15 Actresses Who Hit The Jackpot With Their Leading Men
Some women have all the luck. If it’s not enough that they’re world famous actresses, they have also scored big-time in the leading man department. No nerdy, unfortunate costars for these stunners. So due partly because we’re incredibly impressed by their choice of projects and partly because we are crazy jealous of their penchant for scoring some truly amazing eye candy, we salute 15 lovely, talented ladies whose string of costars have left us weak in the knees.
Vivica A. Fox
So her career — and her love life — may not have been quite the Hollywood fairytale, but boy, oh boy has Vivica A. Fox made up for it in absolutely delicious costars. Whether it’s a throwback bit of sex appeal in the form of Will Smith in Independence Day, Morris Chestnut in Two Can Play That Game, or Larenz Tate in Why Do Fools Fall in Love, Fox has a knack for picking roles with some fine, young men.
This probably comes as little shock, but Ms. Halle Berry has done some serious work in the smokin’ hot costars department. Omar Epps, Patrick Swayze, Clive Owen, Larenz Tate, Hugh Jackman, Bruce Willis, Michael Ealy, Benjamin Bratt, Pierce Brosnan … OK, you get the point. And as if that wasn’t good enough, she’s all booed up with Olivier Martinez (another former costar). Lord, woman, save some hotties for the rest of Hollywood, will ya?
Bronx beauty Kerry Washington not only has a penchant for political activism, but also a spot-on ability to snag some very attractive leading men. Even back in the day with Save the Last Dance (yeah, we know, didn’t even remember she was in that one), she was featured alongside an early-2000s fly Sean Patrick Thomas, then she started starring opposite Jamie Foxx (Ray), Hill Harper (For Colored Girls), and Anthony Mackie (Night Catches Us). Brains, beauty and an eye for man candy … this girl has it all.
Taraji P. Henson
Wildly talented and with that around-the-way persona that you just can’t help but love, Taraji P. Henson is one of our favorite gals. But we can’t deny that we’re a little jealous that this cutie has managed to share the screen with some of our biggest crushes: Tyrese Gibson (Baby Boy), Terrence Howard (Hustle & Flow), Mark Wahlberg (Four Brothers), Don Cheadle (Talk To Me), and Adam Rodriguez (I Can Do Bad All By Myself). Sharing is caring, Taraji, how about letting some other starlets bask in the hotness?
Vanessa L. Williams
The wonderfully versatile, always radiant Vanessa L. Williams has had the great fortune of starring with a number of grade-A hotties in both feature films as well as on television. Among her most glorious pieces of manliness: Chayanne (Dance With Me), Laurence Fishburne (Hoodlum), Michael Beach (Soul Food), and Rick Fox (Ugly Betty). That’s one lucky lady.
Admittedly a strange choice and a loose definition of actress, but America’s Next Top Model czar Tyra Banks has had her fair share of absolutely delectable leading men. During her days on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, she had the opportunity to work side by side with the always suave Will Smith. Then lets not forget her turn on the big screen in Love & Basketball where she starred opposite Mr. Sexual Chocolate himself Omar Epps. You’ve got quite an impressive resume, Ms. Banks.
Speaking of Love & Basketball, we would be remiss to exclude Sanaa Lathan from this lucky lady conversation. Lathan has managed to star with likes of hotties such as Omar Epps and Taye Diggs throughout her impressive career. And let’s, of course, not forget Something New, in which she gets up, close and personal with understated hottie and Mentalist star Simon Baker. Get em’, girl.
If her phenomenal body and banging boyfriend (she’s getting in on the Ryan Gosling, ya’ll) weren’t enough to make you hate this chick, her laundry list of hot costars certainly will. Denzel Washington, Will Smith, Paul Walker, and Mark Wahlberg are among the many beautiful men that Mendes has shared the spotlight with. And call us crazy, but for some reason we don’t think she minded giving up at least a little of the attention for those boys.
Rosario Dawson has always been a peculiar one. She hasn’t taken the most mainstream of roles, but somehow she still manages to score the hottest leading men. Her crowning accomplishment so far: Clive Owen in Sin City. But lets not short change the other cuties in her cinematic life; Dawson has also starred with Broadway actor and singer Adam Pascal, Will Smith, and will share the screen with Idris Elba and Jesse Williams in the upcoming movie They Die By Dawn.
This leggy New Jersey-native has sizzled on screen since we first caught a glimpse of her in 2000’s Center Stage. Acting chops aside, what has caught our attention for more than a decade has been the incredible slew of leading men Zoe has had the pleasure of working with. Just a brief recap on Ms. Saldana’s best and buffest: Nick Cannon (Drumline), Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl), Ashton Kutcher (Guess Who), Sam Worthington (Avatar), James Marsden (Death at a Funeral), Michael Ealy (Takers), and Michael Vartan (Colombiana). Sounds like hard work.
She may not always play the object of a hot man’s affection, but she certainly knows how to surround herself with some serious eye candy. Queen Latifah has landed films with the likes of Denzel Washington (The Bone Collector), LL Cool J (Last Holiday) and Common (Just Wright). Not too shabby, young lady!
Oh Nia, Nia, Nia. Though her star has never risen to the A-list status that we truly felt it should have reached, that certainly doesn’t mean she hasn’t scored big with her handsome co-stars. Where shall we begin? Do we start with her early smooching with Will Smith on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or do we tackle her time as one of Jude Law’s lovely ladies in Alfie or do we mention her turn with Vin Diesel in Boiler Room? OK, I think you get the picture.
Mrs. Robin Thicke certainly has lived quiet a life. Not only has she established herself among Hollywood’s most beautiful and well-known actresses, but she has also gotten her fair share of hotness from her leading men. Among the most luscious displays of hotness that have split screen time with Patton: Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Laz Alonso, and Denzel Washington. All that and she gets to go home to that blue-eyed, soulful slice of man that she calls her husband. We’re impressed.
Homegirl has been in the game for a hot minute, but it hasn’t slowed her down one bit in racking up the super attractive male costars. Let’s take a stroll through memory lane: She had Denzel Washington in Malcolm X, Laurence Fishburne in What’s Lot Got to Do with It, Michael Beach in Waiting to Exhale, Taye Diggs in How Stella Got Her Groove Back and Brian Stokes Mitchell in Jumping The Broom. And that’s just the tip of the smokin’ hot iceberg. Though she’s slowed down in recently years, we have no doubt that Bassett has a few more Hot costars to chill with in the future.
She’s made a name for herself on Parks and Recreation, but Rashida Jones should also be applauded for the incredible leading men that have crossed her path. On Parks and Rec., she’s the object of Rob Lowe’s desires (not a bad spot to find yourself in), while in Celeste & Jesse Forever she had the affections of Andy Samberg (hey, we know what you’re thinking, but you have to admit he’s a cutie). And with more projects on the horizon, we can only expect some more Hot to be infused in this starlet’s roles.
