Normally we wouldn’t be bringing you tales of the butt-naked big-booty vixen on Madame Noire but since K. Michelle gets plenty of discussion on our site — and they are a lot of ladies rooting for her success — so I figure this is worth a chat as well.
Yesterday, King mag dropped a preview of it’s upcoming reality issue which on one cover has “Basketball Wives LA’s” Brooke Bailey and on the other, “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta’s” K. Michelle. Since Brooke does this for a living, it’s no big deal to see her behind plastered on the men’s mag, but for K. Michelle the question is, is this really what you want to be doing?
Now granted, K certainly has the assets to flaunt, and we’ve already seen a lot of her body anyway, particularly on her “Zero F**ks Given” album cover which features her in nothing but a pair of panties. But there’s something a smidge different about being artistically bare and having a straight backshot spread, which this clearly is from the pics inside of the issue. Of course K isn’t the first singer to bust it open for a men’s mag. Ciara, Christina Milian, Mya, D. Woods, and even Keyshia Cole have showed a little skin for the magazine, but not this much. And with the exception of Keyshia, none of these women is taken too seriously in the industry and they haven’t had much longevity as singersm and dare I say it don’t have much vocal talent to begin with. I get that some say there’s no such thing as bad publicity but I feel like K. Michelle has the vocal capabilities that prevent her from having to resort to these antics to get attention. But then again she most likely got her latest Warner Bros. deal from her participation in LHHATL and we all know the level of foolery there so this may not be so different.
Personally, I just don’t want to see K turn into another artist who spends more time doing things like this than actually singing and doing shows and making albums and going on tour. But for now I guess she just has to get in where she fits in, which apparently is on the cover of King mag. What do you think about K. Michelle’s King magazine cover?
