Is Boris Kodjoe Modest or Is He Just Whining?

October 6, 2010  |

Since making a splash ten years ago in the hit Showtime series ‘Soul Food,’ Boris Kodjoe has made a conscious effort to shake his sex symbol status and be taken seriously as an actor.

Though the 37 year-old German-born hunk still has his fair share of magazine covers, including this month’s issues of Essence and Men’s Fitness, respectively, with his new star role on NBC’s new ‘Undercovers’ he’s hoping that people are finally recognizing his talent as an actor.

“It’s flattering, but its nothing I can take credit for,” he explained to during a break in shooting this week.

i liken this to the same stigma of being a rich or famous kid. no matter your accomplishments, others will still judge you based on your parent(s) wealth. when you are truly passionate about your art or accomplishments, you want to avoid the flattery (or flowery) compliments that really were not your controlled. hey, the man was born this way and i do happen to agree he is a very talented and underrated actor, which probably has to do more with the fact he is either a straight male, he is married and seemed to have values, and he's not for hollyweird sale (which is apparent since he is not soaking up their beauty praises)

I love that he feels this way. That's the problem with alot of these guys they are too ful of themselves.

He's quite right. He didn't make himself.

Still, I don't find him the least bit attractive…I guess I just LOVE chocolate skinned brothers.
