Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration because you certainly won’t see Vanessa on anybody’s unemployment line.

But unfortunately, she is out of a tv gig. After only about a month and a half, ABC has decided to put her drama 666 Park Avenue on ice. The network originally ordered 13 episodes  (that’s half of a full season) and while they’re going to let them play out, there will be no more after that.  The interesting thing is that ABC is still holding on to the show by saying it will be in consideration for next season but much like last season’s flop, Pan Am, it isn’t expected to actually return. The season opened with a 2.1 rating but have plummeted ever since.

Don’t cry for Vanessa though because in case you haven’t noticed, she always keeps a job. Next year, she’ll be in Tyler Perry’s The Marriage Counselor.  I’m sure we’ll see her on Broadway again very soon and she’s always singing.  Besides, it seems as though ABC has become her television home, so to speak, as she also had roles on Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives. It wouldn’t come as a surprise at all if we see her back on there next season on another show.

I’m not surprised to be honest. It’s ABC (or Already Been Cancelled) – they have a long history of not following through with a TV show, most of whom aren’t well written. I was even surprised to find ‘Scandal’ is an ABC production. The difference is, it’s a great drama/thriller with a fantastic cast. Vanessa will be fine though; she always bounces back.

I’m upset about this. I loved this show. But good shows that makes us use our brains are always cancelled.

This is sad. I love Vanessa Williams, and I was really enjoying 666 Park Avenue. I couldn’t watch it live because I work at DISH on Sunday evenings, but I always caught it on my DVR. I have the DISH Hopper, which is set to auto-record 666 Park Avenue along with the other big four prime time network shows using Primetime Anytime, so I never missed the show because of work. I’m still looking forward to the remaining episodes, and hopefully you’re right, and we’ll see Vanessa Williams on another show next year.

Why is it that shows that need to be cancelled stay on the air, but good shows get cancelled?

I’m kinda mad about this one. “666″ was very cool and different. I wish they would have given it a chance and a little bit more time to develop an audience. How this show gets canceled by “The Neighbors” doesnt is beyond me. :(

666 was a thrown together show.. I tried watching it and it was too much all in one hour.. Just seemed like a show that was made for the month of November

This is sad. I was actually enjoying this show. I wonder how much they will wrap up by the end. I will not cry for her, Argentina. Vanessa will land on her feet, like always.
