“I Didn’t Do It” told the story of Jennifer Thompson and Ronald Cotton. Thompson wrongly accused Cotton of raping her in 1984, though she didn’t do it on purpose. She was certain Cotton was her attacker — and convinced two juries he was.

Cotton was sentenced to life behind bars in North Carolina in both his trial and a retrial; in the latter trial, a second victim claimed he’d raped her as well. Ronald maintained his innocence throughout.

    sooner or later people are going to realize that forgiving is what lifts the burden of hatred off of your heart. when you walk around in life with this hatred it eats away at your mind and your spirit. You dont need to be spiritual or religious to understand this. Imagine waking up everyday, going thru your day and going to bed every night angry with feelings of revenge. It will sooner or later consume you. It will affect how you deal with others in life. To say that it wont you are just fooling yourself. I know this because i felt it. Had a friend who was murdered and i know who did it. He got locked up. But there were days when i saw his friends and family out and about in the town and my emotions would boil to the point that i wanted to kill them out of revenge. This went on for years until my mind said “its time to let go”. As soon as i did i felt the dark cloud lift.

    I saw this the other night on TV. I think they did him wrong only giving him $10,000 for each of the 11 years he spent in prison with the guy who actually raped Jennifer. There is not enough money in the world that give a person back the life the wasted in prison for a crime they did not committ. This is a sad story and case. There were a couple of detectives that resigned over this, the disgust and guilt they endured after they found out they put Mr. Cotton away. He deserves more than 100k he was given. God bless him and his family.

          lmfao that certainly isn’t true in the least – although this is what the media and white people tell you about me, so I’m not shocked or offended that you would assume so. I also didn’t say anything about black females strictly dating black males , however I do this any type non white person engaging in sexual contact with a white person is incorrect given the context of society. End racism first , then we can all get down in the bedroom. It’s obvious that there is a lot of propaganda being pushed on black people to date white people, especially to black women.

        It doesn’t seem like it! People accuse guys and get away with the whole “I wasn’t sure” excuse all the time. And there are a lot of cases that come to light when the girl did not want to tell her family/boyfriend/husband she was sleeping with someone and blamed the first guy (often black) she could think of. It may be illegal in theory, but not in practice. Think of the guy who accused elmo. I bet he’s not going to jail for ruining the puppeteers reputation.

                Not every case no for example it could be dark outside. Other cases yes, for example the attacker could be someone she knows. Etc.

                    So all the men who did actually rape women and got caught, brought to trial, found guilty, and thrown in jail, what would that prove exactly?

                      It proves that there was enough evidence for them to get convicted.

              They were just starting to become familiar with DNA at that time; it was not used in these cases, so the victims word was golden. I’m sure lots more black men are innocent of crimes, and some law schools even have societies who look at the cases and pick up the ones who seem viable.

                That is sad. Even if it was before DNA testing, how can they just throw a man in jail without proof? How did they connect him to the crime?

    To them, all black people look alike. She just knew a black man raped her, didn’t bother about the specifics. This man spent 11 years of his life in jail. He has a good heart to forgive her b/c i don’t think i would be able to.
