Stacey Dash Writes 1,344-Word Rant On Romney’s Loss Because She Still Wants People To Care About Her After The Election

November 7, 2012  |

I feel like Brian Williams when he talked about Donald Trump’s revolution foolishness last night: I really don’t want to report on this but since it’s out there I figure you should know.

I thought it would have been enough that virtually all of black Twitter went in on Stacey Dash last night when President Obama’s re-election was announced. But as these things usually among the unemployed D-list celebrity ilk who have too much time on their hands, the former “Single Ladies” actress is back asking for more  shade/attention with a 1,344-word essay about why she voted for Mitt Romney and shouldn’t be judged for it.

Stacey sent the letter to TMZ. See the thirst already? The majority of the essay was written before the election was determined and then she added a little aside afterward acknowledging President Obama’s win. Since we don’t have space for all her nonsense, how about we just look at the highlights from the essay:

At the end of the day we are in this together. This is Our American Family. I do not want to be a part of the hateful voices insulting each other. I want to be a part of the voices that helps shape the future. Don’t you? Perhaps I publically [sic] endorsed Romney from a slightly naive place, thinking that I could speak my voice without being criticized in such racially charged and hateful tones.

People get it wrong. My vote for Romney isn’t a vote against Obama. That’s not how full participants in the democratic process operate. We vote for candidates and we vote for issues.

I’ve been fortunate enough in my career to have earned a considerable income. I am a fiscal conservative. I like the simplicity of the plan to lower taxes. I feel I’ve paid out a substantial amount over the 20 plus years I’ve been working. I’m also a woman. And as a single Mother who happens to be half-Bajan and half-Mexican, I have concerns, which cover many topics and issues…

I also don’t understand why more people aren’t acknowledging the good that has come about thanks to Romney’s Massachusetts medical coverage for all citizens. In addition, Romney’s
business acumen is sterling. Our country needs a savvy business manager with the ability to work on both sides of the aisle. Paul Ryan is another brilliant mind with a viable plan for the economy of this country. They’ve injected so much energy into the race. We need that ambition  and focus to get our country back on its feet…

In the event that Obama is re-elected I expect them to work a whole lot harder to bridge the divide between political parties, end the gridlock and get America back to work! Welfare reform
is also in order. An elderly woman stands in the same grocery line pinching pennies to buy a can of soup while a woman is buying marshmallow fluff with food stamps. As times have changed, welfare policy needs to keep stride, just like every other issue.

Just as I was about to ask why she felt the need to write this letter in the first place, as if anyone is really checking for a Stacey Dash election day free-write, I came to the best line in her 1300-word prose:

Ultimately I know that what Stacey Dash thinks about who will be the next president of the United States isn’t that important in the scheme of things-but I feel a desperation for the country.

I think that’s desperation over how she’ll manage to pay taxes with no income since her attitude keeps costing her jobs. Does she not realize no one will ever take her political stance seriously in a Baywatch swimsuit? In 2016, just keep your thoughts to yourself Stacey. Not because you’re a republican, but because you are clueless.

See what happens when you leave the plantation? Your own people disown you, The brainwashing has been a success. Keep getting your welfare checks and keep voting Democrat. This election is nothing but a wake up call…

  • noirette

this is doin nothing for your career

  • DeeVah

If someone doesn’t have an opinion or view point that coincides with your own or appears misinformed, debate them, educate them, don’t hate on them, insult them or spew ignorant comments. I don’t agree with Stacey Dash’s political orientation, but she’s entitled to her opinion. You live in a democracy. She might be an opportunist and is clueless about social policy and tax reform, but attacking her acting, her appearance, her puttering career is juvenile and dually ignorant. I am not a fan of her’s, she may not be the smartest cookie in the bunch, but I am tired of people always using the anonymity of social media to attack and insult people.

  • tmw

Buying “marshmallow fluff with food stamps”? This just wreaks of ignorance.

  • ANTMilf

Stacey, cry us a river. Good night.

  • Desi

Another thing about food stamps is ( at least when I was working in maryland) ppl try and use their food stamp card to buy anything but, when you swipe it, it only pays for the items that your allowed to buy like milk eggs and bread. So its obvious that ppl are I’ll informed and ignorant about food stamps

    • jack_sprat2

Interesting. So, many of the people who actually GET food stamps are clueless about how they work. Given that fact, why hold to a higher standard someone whose practical knowledge of such things must be at least 20 years out-of-date? She’s just remembering things as they once were, as were those people whom you saw in Maryland.

As for Stacey being an attention-ho, how does that make her different than most every other actor in Hollywood? She just tried a novel approach, being a black woman publicly supporting anyone against Obama. Props for originality and nerve, anyway. When Madonna recently got herself booed off of the stage in NOLA, her political drawers were the same, tired ones that she’d been showing us for the last thirty years.

Hello Stacey. Romney is not stellar in business for anyone other than himself and partners. He has killed jobs through his own company. Has borrowed on the company’s credit and then filed bk with he company and made off with millions. All the while many were laid off of the company and jobs were shipped overseas to make up losses. How is it that you think this is good for america? You negatively spoke on Obama and you were totally wrong. You really should get your facts straight. Keep more of your money, but many will do the same when your new projects come out. If you get any with your negative attention.

  • IllyPhilly

In a few hours this political trend among celebs will end.

  • Waahhh! Now shut up woman

Now, she and Paul Ryan have time to pose for more pictures that no one’s interested in.

  • OlayinkaFab

Somebody please make this Clueless non-career having, non-factor sit down and shut up. Stay in your lane Stacey. You are out of your mental league.

  • *Sweet Brown voice* Ain’t nobody got time to read all that!

  • Um, hey. Stacey Dash just needs to fall into a hole and re evaluate life for a little bit. Allegedly so Mitt Romney confused her for Whitney Houston. Google it, it’s there. I don’t know what cheech and chong she’s on but to me? That translates into all black folks look alike. Despite her political affiliations the rant just cancels out everything she should consider important about herself. She even mentioned her personal background. So what is it? Misinformed? A moron? Maybe she just started watching the election process a month ago? Either way she seems to be talking out the other side of her mouth for no reason.

    • jack_sprat2

“…Mitt Romney confused her for Whitney Houston…That translates into all black folks look alike.” It shouldn’t. Mormons don’t much partake of popular culture, especially at Mitt’s age. They mostly do try to live in a bubble in which they each strive to keep one another’s children safe and well-prepared for their own futures as adults. Does that make them out-of-touch with the street? Thankfully, yes; it also helps keep those same children off them. Not a bad trade-off, by any means (necessary.)

If I were speaking directly to Stacey, I would tell her it is ok. Apparently, she likes people that frankly don’t like her. She doesn’t know who her fans are or what her fans are about. She voted for Romney because she believes in one of his many changing versions. Obama, unfortunately for getting Stacey’s vote, only has one version. That is the one that won the election and she just couldn’t get with it. There was no moderation in her. She doesn’t know anything about it. Furthermore, she should have got some advice from Flo Rida and just kept her opinion to herself, because he knows that all of his fans aren’t of one party or the other. Overall, Stacey probably shot herself in the foot with her fan base because of her affiliation (and the fact that most of her fan base likely supports Obama). Like someone else up here said, maybe in 2016 she just STFU.

    • Candacey Doris

That’s going a bit to far. I just through up a little at that mental picture.

  • realadulttalk

Stacey got the most attention she’s got since Clueless when she endorsed Romney…no one talked about her before that (come on, they found a look-a-like to replace you on Single Ladies–people who watch the show already forgot you were ever on it) and no one has talked about her since like 2 days after. What wil be this pitiful woman’s next ploy for someone to care? A baby?

  • kierah

As a single mom, according to Romney, your child should be a violent criminal.
Since Romney is a conservative Mormon, your pose in a swimsuit showing side cleavage is offensive. Until recently, Black people weren’t even allowed to serve in their churches.
If you weren’t so clueless you’d see, Mitt Romney opposes just about everything you are.

    • Guest

Kierah, you are so right to bring out these points. A lot of people voted for Romney hiding behind Christian conservatism. The problem I have with this is that Romney is a Mormon and the doctrine and beliefs of the Mormon Theology is vastly different from Christian beliefs and theology. There are some simililarities but many differences. I wish that in the future people would take the time to learn the truth about what they are supporting instead of blindly taking a stand. KEEP ON SPEAKING THE TRUTH!!!

    • psylocke_2001
