Whitney Houston and Jermaine Dupri is an unlikely combination but before the singer passed away in February she apparently hit the studio with the ATL producer to lay down this latest track, “Never Give Up.”
The song will appear on the upcoming greatest hits album, I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston, which hits stores November 13, but the sound is definitely not the Whitney we’re used to. Though the singer sounds good, she sounds really different, and the uptempo beat is unexpected from the woman who gave us ballads like “I Will Always Love You.”
According to MTV News, this track is the only new song on the greatest hits album so this is fans’ big chance to hear Whitney’s last recording. Check it out and tell us what you say: pass or play?
