More Paper Bag Fashion: This $480 Jacket is For Sale

We’re taking a break from our election coverage because we had to bring you this crazy news from the fashion world.

United Bamboo, is selling the jacket above, designed by Aki Goto, for $480. This jacket, besides being hideously ugly, is made of brown paper bags coated in varnish and is embellished with duct tape. It is a one-of-a-kind. Why does this thing exist in the world?

Back in August, Jil Sander was selling a paper bag handbag for $290, so there seems to be some sort of paper bag trend in the fashion world right now. Amazon sells 50 brown paper bags for $7.30 a pack. So if you want to get on this trend but don’t want to spend the big bucks, click and have at it.
