I don’t bother with any apple products, and saying that this ‘new’ mini least of all. As far as technology goes, apple’s products are behind the curve and I see them as little more than fashion accessories. There are all-around better performing, both simpler products; think of how easy it would be to transfer a multitude of different media types and formats to and from windows and android tablets/phones, rather than being bottle necked into iTunes and their limited file format support, it’s click and drop for anything other than apple with many file types, and devices that allow more sophisticated user tweaking and customization. I love the build quality generally seen with the iPhone, but every new device, in terms of performance and features, that comes out of apple camp compares more similarly to devices that other manufacturers have released many months before, and there is usually already something on the market that will likely compete technologically and performance-wise with the next iPhone by the time their current one comes out, it’s like they stay at least a generation behind. Trend and marketing keep them selling as best I see.
