Last week we told you how “Basketball Wives LA’s” ratings are in the toilet, hovering somewhere around 1.4 million viewers on average. This past Monday, that number rose slightly to 1.7 million but that may not be enough to save the series — or more likely, the cast member’s jobs.
One disgruntled viewer tweeted Shaunie O’Neal, the mastermind behind the “Basketball Wives” Miami spinoff, essentially begging her to cancel the show. (Signs you know your show sucks) But Shaunie put forth another solution:
I can’t say I think that’s a bad idea. The entire focus of the show this season has been, do we want to be friends with Jackie, should we be friends with Jackie again, I don’t think I like Jackie, I kinda miss Jackie, has Jackie been talking about me behind my back, did you see what Jackie did, did you hear what Jackie said? Never in my life have I seen six grown women’s lives revolve around another random (and slightly off) woman 20 years their senior. No wonder she thinks she’s the HBIC.
In all honesty, the cast members are just boring and the series lacks a “character” with a personality that makes you actually care enough to tune in every week and watch six women go to lunch seven times in a row and gossip about each other. BBWLA ain’t got it.
Personally, I’m all in favor of a cast overall. Of course they can also do what I’m sure you’re about to suggest: cancel the whole thing.
What do you think? Should Shaunie keep any of the BBWLA cast? If so, who?
