Brandy’s Still Sitting Up In Her Room Waiting On A Ring: “It’s Time To Be Married For Real”

October 15th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

I may cry for Brandy if her boyfriend Ryan doesn’t propose to her because ol’ girl has been running that “baby, baby please put a ring on it” routine for a little too long now. I get that once the media knows you’ve got a boo, they want to get all up in your business and probe about when you’re going to walk down the aisle, but people have been asking Brandy this question for far too long now and her expectation that a ring is coming without any confirmation from the man who would be doing the asking is starting to get a little tiresome.

The latest folks to probe Brandy’s relationship status are the hosts of The Breakfast Club. B-Rocka, as they called her, stopped by the office this morning and despite a couple of questions about her song with Chris Brown and reality TV, most of the interview was about her relationship — and where it’s going. Here are a few snippets.

Whether Ryan was involved with her album

He’s been involved from the very beginning, starting off with being an inspiration… He was definitely instrumental in helping with the song choices….He doesn’t have any publishing on the album.

Do they ever have trouble separating business at home

No, sometimes it’s hard because it is business and pleasure being mixed up. Sometimes when I want him to be a boyfriend he comes at me like an artist and I just want him to be a boyfriend.

If she’s thinking about marriage

Yeah, of course. I mean, I’m 33. It’s time to be married for real this time. It’s a great thing when you’re in love with someone and you’re connected. You want to share your life with them.

On how she envisions her wedding ceremony:

I think I’ll know when I get my ring….I know my ring is coming.

I hope so girl.

This is coming from people who most likely don’t have a ring and probably will never have one… Oh the Irony!

  • mdg

Brandy get a clue you have dont have to give the que, cough and say ring under your breath, in every interview keep saying I better get my ring for a man to marry you. Calm the F*** down. Somethings should be private. She is going to scare him off. Damn. You need to focus on the album you have been talking about since feb and just now decided to promote. Her priorities are wrong. We know you 33 ok!!! You may not get married til you 43 if you keep begging people to wife you up.

  • clove8canela

I wish there was some way to capture the deep breath I just took after reading the headline. Smh, smh, smh…

  • toya

Seems too damn thirsty n needy..

  • DYNAMICALLYDELLA

Talk about someone being in dire need of counsel from their elders…Brandy boo, do you really want a man proposing to you because you’ve publicly shamed/nagged him to? She setting herself up for one of those (x) year engagements followed up with a 1 year marriage. Please fall back or break up, cause if not you WILL end up lonely and broken-hearted.

  • Yvette

I sincerely hope she is not one of those folks who are in love with the idea of being married instead of really wanting to be married because after the I do’s and the reception is over is when reality begins. SMH. Brandy please hold on girl. If it is meant to be…it will be.

  • Princess

    • Patricia

Thank you. You took the word out of my mouth. Please somebody, help her. I wish she would stop talking about it. She cannot make the guy marry her.

  • Ay

The question is, will this make people buy her album?……………..

Brandy’s boyfriend could very well have intentions of proposing soon. We can’t assume that just because she speaks publicly about wanting to be engaged that her partner doesn’t want to be engaged. She’s in a relationship with him, so she knows him far better than Madame Noire or any microblogging naysayer. Wanting to be with the one you love isn’t thirst. I knew almost a year before my husband proposed that I wanted to be with him forever. I talked about it with my friends and family. Was I thirsty? Of course not. Consider that Brandy’s platform is larger, so what would be a conversation with family and friends for us is a conversation with all for her. They asked her about it and she responded. It’s not like she started an online petition or hunger strike. She’s just happy and end love. She wants a “forever.”

    • Yay!

Amen! She deserves a ring an much more. Her song is hot right now. I’m happy for her:)

    • http://twitter.com/TherealTyrelle Relle Nelson♪†

thank you, and does anyone understand the fact that she doesnt just bring it up? these interviewers question her about it… smh where is the thirst? she’s 33 and wants a husband, only if more females had higher hopes for they own life and relationships..they wouldn’t still be “wifey” or a baby momma.

  • Kayo Halana Malie

If she is waiting on a ring, then she could just buy one herself. When are people going to stop reducing marriage down to whether they/a woman has a damn ring?

  • Na Na

Brandy please stop the thirst! I LOVE this chick, and shade this is not. But c’mon Bran its starting to sound a little crazy only coming from one party in the relationship. I wonder how she feels about another article on MN today about women proposing?
