Whoopi Goes In On Ann Coulter: If You’re Going To Talk About Race, Know What You’re Talking About

Whoopi, Whoopi, Whoopi.

Whenever Ann Coulter is around you know an argument is sure to pop off. Add Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of the ladies of “The View” to the mix and you have a full-blown case of fireworks. Yesterday, the always controversial republican stopped by the daytime talk show to discuss her new book, “Mugged,” but what Whoopi, Sherri, and Joy really wanted to know was why she always has something ridiculous to say about black people in her attempt to discredit democrats.

Ann had barely gotten through four sentences before Whoopi had to interrupt her and plainly ask what I’m sure 99% of viewers were wondering: ”What are you talking about?”

“Oh you know what, hold up Ms. Coulter, please stop. Please stop,” Whoopi added. “If you are going to talk about race, at least, at least, know what you’re talking about.”

Coulter then asked, “What Don’t I Know,” to which Whoopi replied:

“Well tell me what you know about being black. Your facts are a little shaky. I mean, you’re saying that because liberals have abandoned black people now—what? I don’t get it. I don’t understand.”

And that was just the beginning. Before long, Joy, Sherri, and even Barbara had to ask Ann what the heck her purpose is — in life. What’s even more hilarious than the bickering is the fact that Elizabeth left her girl all out there to fend for herself. Ain’t no love for a republican on “The View.” Check out the clips if you didn’t see her appearance yesterday. What do you think?

    You can always tell when Ann is promoting a new book. She trolls more than usual. Whoopi should not let Ann get under her skin… that’s what she does…trolls to get under your skin and sell books. Whoopi and Sherri should have kept their cool and not take the bait. They were way too emotional and that’s what Ann wants. Don’t even bother asking her if she knows what it’s like to be Black. Ask her what the Republican party has done to cause Black people to vote Democratic in large numbers since the 60s without accusing us of wanting welfare. Also she could have asked her why the Republican party rarely made an effort to reach out to Blacks for over 40 years Lastly, she could have asked why did a former member of the RNC apologize for the Southern Strategy. That episode of the Boondocks, “The S-word” nailed Ann perfectly!

    I must be the minority who was disappointed in Whoopi’s response. I wish she had calmly challenged Ann on her opinions using data rather than shout and scream “bullshit” over and over again. Reactions like that just fuel Ann Coulter and keep her books on the New york best seller list. All this over emotional shouting is what keeps Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’reilly, and Glenn Beck in business. Her comments could have EASILY been refuted and argued down, instead ratings are up watching a bunch of women clucking at each other.

    at blacks because we no longer feel guilty, for not feeling guilty for

      Then how did all those men in the 90s get locked up? She’s talking out her backside. and using Guliani as an example of whites not feeling guilty anymore–Ummm…that was post 9-11, sweetie. The difference in the NY of 1996 and the NY of 2005 (and today) is because of his movements in reaction to 911, not the OJ Simpson trial.

      She seriously needs to put her facts on a timeline b/c she’s mixing up facts which is why her conclusions and arguments don’t make sense.

      For some reason this reminds me of when Whoopi defended Mel Gibson after his racist tirade.

      AND while I disagree with Ann C, I feel that Whoopi’s approach wasn’t the most effective one- which is usually the case with her and Sherry (“The View” really needs to get some more knowledgeable black reps on that show. Sherry is embarrassing sometimes b/c she’s so clueless.). Instead of asking Ann what she knows about being black, she could have brought up the point I made above. Or how the Republican and Democratic parties of post-slavery are not the same parties that exist today- the only similarity is the names really. Instead of keeping her cool, she went for the irrational emotional response which weakened her argument, IMO.

      I saw a special on the History Channel, where the triple K ( you know the one) was mostly republicans. And at one point, they had over four million members in their group/klan.
