Secret Wedding Rumor: Word Is Gloria Govan Is A Real Basketball Wife Now

From the sounds of things, marriage has moved up pretty high on Gloria Govan and Matt Barnes’ list of priorities, so much so that the couple secretly got married over the weekend — let the Las Vegas Review Journal tell it.

In their sightings section, the journal reported that on Saturday someone saw:

“Matt Barnes of the Los Angeles Clippers, marrying Gloria Mendoza-Govan on Sunday at the Little Church of the West with teammate DeAndre Jordan serving as best man.”

Stranger things have happened I suppose.

When we got deep into Gloria and Matt’s lives on “Basketball Wives LA” they were chugging along on the struggle bus of love, several years and a set of twins later. Their relationship hung on after they called off their engagement but at the end of the premiere season of BBWLA they went their separate ways. Eight months later, the pair decided to give it another go with Matt opting not to appear on the reality TV show for the sake of their union. If the rumor that these two tied the knot this weekend proves true, it sounds like that was definitely a smart move.

So far, man nor his alleged wife have responded to the rumors, but the marriage license NecoleBitchie obtained might say it all.

    I am a detailed individual, probably due to my profession as a acquisition/contract specialist. In reviewing the Barnes/Govan Marriage Lic # I detect different Instrument numbers. It is strange to have two different contract numbers referring to the same contract. It appears that there has been a transposition of numbers. Very common if printed by hand but highly unlikely if machine generated. Maybe this does not matter in this case, but I have witnessed attorneys work wonders with less in order to void a contract, just saying.

    When I first heard of it I thought it was Laura I guess I was wrong. It seems like Gloria has some serious competition with her sister and I never did like Gloria

    They have known each other since they were kids and my cousin played with him at UCLA. They are a regular couple. Granted their business and excess drama is plastered all over the television but they are making money off of it. And; sometimes people will put anything (even their personal lives) out there for money. If they are married and he opted out of being on Basketball wives then that means they realized that their personal business and her own business venture need to remain separate. They lasted longer than Chad & Evelyn so to me.. Eh? Good luck to them. That is all I can say. If it ends badly… they have their memories and hopefully they learn their lesson.

    Oh please how many of yall haven’t gotten back with an old boo after yall broke up or atleast know someone who has. Sometimes people are together for so long that they do need a break apart to do them, and when or if they get back together it makes their relationship work. If that’s what works for them then that’s them

      I agree with you. I’ve never done it and I have never seen it work before. From what I have seen, they go back and forth then eventually call it quits for good, but I definitely wish them the best for the kid’s sake.

    Don’t care. Anyway, I didn’t know BBW LA was on again, and I saw a snippet. Funny how the girls put Jackie on the outside of the circle ( took her power), and now she has to ask THEM for friendship. They are calling her crazy to her face, comparing her to a ” crackhead aunt,” and telling HER they will have a gathering at HER house, and who’s cell not to call. Ladies, this is how you do it! Take the power away from people who abuse it, and don’t become an abuser, but a true friend. Had to lol @ her almost groveling for social status……..she thought she ran that town.

    Does this mean I’m gonna have to go back to not liking her? I was just saying that she had humbled a lot from the first BBW and was actually a likable character. I wish she had actually tried life on her own…I see this ending in cheating and divorce. Oh wait…that’s how it started.

    Correction MadameNoire: Gloria was on the first season of basketball wives Miami prior to the LA. Why waste time on this? These clowns will not stay married long. If I were a betting person, I would bet on it.
