It’s A Family Affair: Trey Smith Makes His Foray Into Music With “Find You Somewhere” Feat. Willow And Jaden

With Willow and Jaden Smith on every screen and radio possible singing, rapping, dancing and acting, it was kind of nice to look at Will Smith’s elder son, Trey, the cute kid from the “Just The Two Of Us” video with Will, and see that he preferred to stay out of the spotlight. You know, be a regular kid who just focused on school, played football and appeared as the supportive kid, not the mini mogul in the making.

But surprise! At 20, Trey has decided to make his mark in music as well, but as a DJ, following the route of other famous youngsters like Connor Cruise (Tom’s son), and naming himself DJ AcE. The eldest Smith child dropped the track “Find You Somewhere,” a song where his younger brother spits some teen angst-like lyrics and his little sister sings the simple hook (“I…think I can find you soooomewhere…DANCE!”). Of course, they showcase some dancing skills in the video, with Willow doing ballet and the young siblings showing off some slick footwork for the cameras. I do need Jaden to keep his shirt on though…

Oh, by the way, their mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, directed the dance-heavy track, so yes, it really is a family affair. As my colleague would say, “It pays to be rich!” Want to make a video real quick? Your mom can direct it! Clearly I’m jealous.

All in all, the track is not bad, and it seems like the three Smith kids are trying to get their David Guetta on while keeping things PG-13 (“And the orange juice is still pourin’”) on the track about finding love. And can we all agree that Willow has a pretty great voice? I could live with seeing this joint just once, but I appreciate the effort. What about you?

    Wow! Finally, something I can get behind. I would push this on all of my young impressionable neices, nephews, and young’uns everywhere. I’m proud of the positive effective manner they have used their talents and skill in this video. I hope more follow. It reminds me of the days when their father made good clean music. (Yes, I’m older than Will and Jada). It’s gotten bad out there and a lot of the music just makes me want to drop my head in shame. But this video is like a ‘flashlight’ at the end of the tunnel when the key light has gone out!. Thank you children of the Smith family and especially to the good sense your parents who are guiding you this way. When I heard Jaden’s voice I giggled because he is at the age when the voice drops and nature takes over. Yes, very much a mascaline sound. I like it. And Willow showing some really good lines in her body. Imagine when she gets those womanly curves in a few years, she’ll knock’em dead. (In a good way). And Ace has come forward in such a magic way, finally. Like his father in his early years he’s giving us some of that “Divine Spark” many of us so crave. I want to see more from this trio, heck from the whole family. So glad they don’t look like the same robotic, put together junk colaboration out there. The shot where they all go “freestyle” in their dance is BEAUTIFUL! This is the way it should be! Off the cuff, impulsive, impromptu, at least the look of it. It’s been our signature way of expression in the states, during bondage even back to ancient lands and times. Looking at this I can truly say I am proud to claim them as my own.

    Willow owned this song!! Jaden’s voice/rap didn’t fit well with this song.

    I like this! Jayden’s voice sounds like another rapper I have heard. Nasally deep. I like that they are collaborating and keep it in the family.

    I like the beat, I like the chorus but I honestly cannot listen to Jaden’s voice while it continues to go through pubity. Very annoying and I will pass on this song and video!

    I like it. I think they should do more collabs. Honestly, the track is catchy and they’re all attractive and talented (at the basic level) lol. I support it.

    I like it. Its cute. I wasn’t expecting Jaden’s voice to be that deep…lol But I appreciate parents who tap into and support their children s creativity, and them doing things as a family makes it even better.

    I will say they are so skinny and tiny….guess its in their genes but im gonna need granny to cook some greens and cornbread for them babies..lol im jk

    Lol this is cute. Me & My sisters use to play around & make music videos together when we were younger. But of course we didn’t have famous parents to direct it & have a film crew lol. So it’s a cute family thing. In like 10 years they gonna look back at this & laugh…Willow was killing her little ballet lol
