Angela was really in love when she made this movie

After Bassett was nominated for the Academy Award for her role as Tina Turner, work came pouring in. She was so busy grinding, that she had to plan her wedding to fellow actor, Courtney B. Vance, as she was also filming Stella. The film even interfered with her plans a little bit. The filming date kept getting pushed further and further back, making it difficult for the couple to pick a date. Eventually they chose October 17th, almost a month after she’d started shooting.

    I remember this movie. The beautiful Taye Diggs had you all spending your weave Bill to see this movie over and over, and he married a white queen and said f©k you black b!t©hes. I love it. Black women are the same way about me.

    Two things…
    1) Outside of #6 these were some of the least interesting ‘secrets’ that I’ve seen here.
    2) The ‘fall’ of Taye Diggs star power/sex symbolism shows how sooo many ladies idea of a sex-symbol is really just linked to visibility and image in the mainstream. When those roles dry up compounded with rumors and pix of the star with various white women (or even white wives in Diggs’ case), then the ‘sex-symbol’ thing goes away quickly. It seems better to give the public as small of a sample size of your private life as possible.

    I know this story too well, my rich friend is living that nightmare as we speak and she also married the guy from Jamaica. We advised her not to but she was “in love”. Now he wants half of what she worked for and bought and when he was in Jamaica he did not have 2 nickel to rub together to make a dime, but he is leaving out of the marriage we believe fairly wealthy. Welcome to America and their silly women!
