There’s no going back now that Chad Johnson has officially been charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to USA Today:

“The Broward State Attorney’s Office filed the charge Wednesday. Johnson faces up to a year in county jail.”

Chad is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning where he will file a written plea of not guilty. After that, it will be up to his lawyer to come up with a good defense for why Chad shouldn’t do time. There’s no telling at this stage whether Chad could plead out in this case involving reality TV star Evelyn Lozada like he did in 2000 when he was arrested for hitting his then-girlfriend. At that time, NBC Sports says he was able to work out a deal in which he avoided jail time by spending 30 days cleaning up graffiti, getting counseling, and staying 100 yards away from the victim, as well as serving three years of probation. That deal may have worked for a first offender, but now with a second similar offense, a judge might not be so quick to take it easy on Chad. Rest assured we’ll be watching this unfold.

I should have been his lawyer, as soon as the incident broke I wud have out out a statement abt her violent past and that she was more than capable of attacking HIM!
Then did the talk show rounds abt how crazy she is and how I hope she gets anger management, I wud have really turned the tables on her Ask lol!
But not him he gets his face tatted on him smh dumbask!

    • Ann

I strongly agree, I would try to build a case against Evelyn with her history of being violent, fighting and having a foul mouth as well how quickly she is willing to capitalize off getting paid off something as serious as domestic violence.

  • MeToo

Oh I thought I heard Tammi and Evelyn say, you don’t call the police! Where they come from you handle it yourself. The hypocrisy. What he did was wrong, but I can never see her as a victim. God please forgive me.

  • Kay

I glad he isn’t getting off easy. I’m tired of Entertainers and Athletes getting off with a slap on the wrist for the same crime that an regular man will get the book thrown at him for. Justice is justice no matter how well you can sing a note Or catch a ball. These men need to know that there are plenty more guys that can do these things so they need to watch themselves cause they aren’t above punishment,

  • IllyPhilly

Damn, for all of this he shoulda kicked her in the shin too. Damn! That dome do look like a deadly weapon though.

  • MLS2698

So, he hit his girlfriend in 2000. What is he, the Chris Brown of football?

    • L-Boogie

      LOL

      • L-Boogie

Oh, I am a parent now? I cannot wait to get this bish.

  • MsRedBone

SMDH…This is sad…I’m not saying what he did was right but they are just trying to make an example out of him because of his attitude. If he was the quarterback of the Steelers and he was doing similar things I wonder if he would still have his life???

  • Britt

And some fellas say they want crazy girls…SMH. Let Chad’s situation be a lesson.

    • Pat

These black men refused to learn the lesson. They will continue to date foul mouth ignorant women like Lozada. Especially when they come in on a little bit of money. Some men don’t want beautiful intelligent, graceful, smart black women who does not have a foul mouth.

  • reese

Charged him a lot more swiftly than Zimmerman! Dome knocking a jumpoff ain’t right but killing a black male and kicking at crib in the same state takes longer process I guess.

    • Africanpride

I still can’t believe Zimmerman is not charged yet. Watch, they are going to let him go. You know, they will go great length to find any quicker way to throw a black man in jail, even if another white boy did the same. The system is unfair, biased and sucks for a black person.however, I hope it will be a lesson learned for chad to be more responsible.

      • Kay

I’m So tired of the whole ” the state is so quick to throw a black man in jail” BS. If black men wouldnt put themselves in these situations then they wouldn’t be going to jail. Why is it because he is a black man that commits a crime and is properly pubished for it, it is immediately some big Rodney king-esque racial crime. Yes there are some blak men in jail that were wrongly convicted, but the vast majority of them put themselves there. People put to much emphaisis on the color rather than the crime. He hit his girlfriend, regardless of how she has acted in the past he deserves to serve his punishment. Period.

        • reese

Again I never said Chad was justified but neither if us knows what prompted their fight and judging Lozado’s penchant for aggression whose to say what really took place. I don’t care what happens to Chad. We didn’t hear the 911 tapes but we did for Trayvon. His killer is free and this is the same state that both crimes took place in.

          • IJS

            @disqus_fFutxeul8S:disqus I heard the Chad/Ev 911 tape.

            • reese

Good for you but I have a job.

              • Lov3lyLady32

So do I Boo Boo, you said nobody heard Chad/Ev’s 911 tape, but I did, you don’t gotta get all butt about it. Glad you have a job sweetie, so do I!!!

        • Africanpride

I agree, I’m not justifying anything at all. I’m all about consequences for your actions. I was just comparing it to someone like Zimmerman, who committed a huge crime, and he’s still not charged yet. So, basically when a black man commits a crime, it’s easier to charge him. if you noticed, I said I hope he learns to be more responsible. So, nothing about justifying his actions.
