why is there nothing about trying to find help? some people have psychological reasons for feeling the way they do. i clicked on this article QUICK because i am dealing with having a horrible self esteem. my family and friends are tired of it and i have noone to talk to because they all think i’m trying to have a pity party and be a drama queen. i then found out that most likely it is depression which is a chemical imbalance in the brain. it’s more than just being shy or being sad. “think positive” doesn’t help. it’s a malfunction in your brain. learn the root of the problem before you criticize people.

“if you have low self esteem you’re probably shy and introverted”

Nonsense. While that may sometimes be true, it doesn’t always follow. What shy people lack is confidence, not self-esteem, which is related but not the same.

You’d be surprised, a lot of times it’s the loud and arrogant with the most self esteem issues and the false outward confidence is just a cover-up.

Also, it’s interesting that this article was written to women, as if low self esteem is specific to females only.

Excellent article…direct and to the point. Many women have low self-esteem and don’t even recognize it. Sometimes a checklist like this is just what the doctor ordered….I sure learned a thing or two about myself that can be worked on!
