Talk is cheap, which is why political speeches have never really been appealing to me. However, Michelle Obama’s speech during the Democratic National Convention really got me thinking. Not so much about taxes, health reform and the election, but about love. So here, I declare my radical political stance: Barack and Michelle have my dream relationship. Their actions, words—and even their innuendo—have built my standard of what makes for a healthy and enduring marriage.

As the first lady stood up there telling a story about life as a newlywed with Barack (“We were so young, so in love, so in debt,” she blushed), I sank into the couch mesmerized. It was the first time in a long time that I’d heard the term “so in love” without wanting to roll my eyes.

    This article was really refreshing to read!! It delves into the humanistic side of Barack and Michelle; revealing who they are outside of their respective titles, and it also demonstrates the fact that both of them have a good sense of perspective when it comes to relating to each other both in the limelight and outside of it.

      I don’t usually care for famous couples but these two right here, they just have a natural flowing deep love, care and respect for each other that radiates through. Someone asked, how so you know Barack hasn’t cheated or will cheat on Michelle. Honestly, I don’t know but what thing I will say is, even if that does happen which I doubt, these two have undenying love for each other and are soul mates.

    I love to see couple like that. Sadly, you don’t see any black marriages like that any more. People decide they don’t want to be married due to they “think” they found something better, just want out or a conflict when one person don’t want to work out. I pray that Barack and Michelle continue to stay married after he finishes his second term as president and hopefully, he will say in his right mind not to cheat on Michelle and produce any outside babies. Giving most of his money to child support.
