There’s some new eye candy coming to Being Mary Jane this season and his name is Michael Ealy. *Pause for applause.*

Over the weekend, we tipped you off to some changes that can be expected in season 4 of the hit BET series, like the fact that MJ is moving to New York City and she has a new job and it turns out Mr. Ealy is going to be one of her co-workers (hopefully turned lovers) at her new gig.

According to Deadline, “Ealy will play Justin Talbot, the new producer of Great Day USA who, unfortunately for Mary Jane, also is the man who previously got her fired from CNN. Upon arriving at Great Day USA, he remains a thorn in Mary Jane’s side, and she must learn to cleverly circumvent his power plays.”

Interestingly, Ealy said he took a little time to join the BMJ bandwagon, but Gabrielle Union ultimately convinced him.

“I had turned down several network offers, as I really was not interested in doing another show at the time, but because Gabrielle is a friend, I told her that I’d seriously think about and talk with my team,” he told Deadline. “At the end of the day, I felt like we all have a social responsibility to help elevate material with people of color in any way that we can, and if there was an opportunity for me to help my friend and the cultural perceptions of our work, then I would do my part.”

Well thank you kind sir. Of course with Ealy’s addition and MJ’s move, this marks the official death of her relationship with David (we’ll miss you Stephen Bishop) and no more chocolate bae either (bye Thomas Jones). Nevertheless, we’re excited to see what Ealy brings to the mix when Being Mary Jane returns in Season 4. Are you here for it?
