Remember when Beans was going off on Jay-Z at every corner because he felt like Jay wasn’t looking out for him? See, this is why!

Just two weeks before Beanie, real name Dwight Grant, was supposed to report to prison for failing to pay taxes, he was arrested in Pennsylvania for drugs and weapons violations on I-95. The car, which was being driven by Gerald Andrews, was stopped for erratic driving on the highway and when searched, a gun was found in the console. A body search revealed codeine syrup and pills wrapped in cellophane on Beanie and pill bottle and marijuana on Andrews.  They were taken into custody and held, as neither of them were able to post the $350,000 bond.

It just seems to keep getting worse for Beans.  A judge did him a favor by allowing two weeks for him to promote his new album (he did a couple of shows in NYC and surrounding cities) before reporting for his two year sentence.  He also did a radio interview where he seemed a bit “loopy” and many speculated that he may have been high on something a bit stronger than marijuana.

I guess the buck likely makes its final stop here for Beanie. You don’t continue to get these types of chances before the universe says, “Aight son, that’s about it for you.”  He’s a great rapper but he never quite got rid of street life long enough to enjoy fame.

By the way, when Action News asked him about the arrest, Beans’ response was, “I was in my bed last night.” Bless his heart.
