Travel Abroad: The Black Star Guide to Ghana

September 10, 2012  |
Ghana-based label Duaba Serwa will show at Ghana Fashion and Design Week

When we heard Vogue Italia was sponsoring Ghana Fashion and Design Week, we couldn’t have been more geeked. Scheduled directly after the Paris collections in October, fashion’s most important season will end in West Africa for the first time! Whether you decide to start hunting for a cheap ticket that’ll get you to Accra in time for GFDW’s opening day (tickets start at $1,300), or plan to put Ghana on your winter escape shortlist, we’ve put together a travel guide to Black Star country. Make sure to post pics to our Facebook page when you go!

I love this article! Please do more, I am fascinated by Lagos,Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Seychelles, and Sierra Leone. I don’t know where I want to live or for how long but I definitely want to spend some significant time in Africa, particularly as a single woman. It may be a ridiculous fantasy, but I would love to fall in love in Africa.

I live and work in Namibia and fell in love here too! 🙂 It’s not ridiculous at all!

Granted it will be another 30 years before I do this, but Ghana is where I plan/want to retire….no Florida for me 🙂
