Damn, Damn, Damn! Terrell Owens Cut From The Seahawks

August 27th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Three weeks ago Terrell Owens was set to make a return to the NFL with a one-year, $1 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks. Today, he is just another unemployed brother, because according to the 38-year-old’s tweets, he’s been given the axe.

The wide-receiver posted the news around 2 pm, yesterday, tweeting:

“I’m no longer a Seahawk. I THANK the organization 4 the opportunity, I’m truly blessed beyond belief. My FAITH is intact & will NOT waiver.”

Although the NFL veteran, who hasn’t played in a game since 2010, impressed coaches during workouts, as the Washington Post puts it, “his preseason performance was more notable for the passes he dropped than anything he caught.”  Something else T.O. clearly can’t catch is a break, as the former pro has seemingly been on the mend physically, professionally, and financially since his 2010 season with the Cincinnati Bengals. He sat out the entire 2011 season following knee surgery, and unless someone picks him up within the next few days/weeks, he’ll likely be sitting out 2012 too.

Everyone except T.O. seems to see the writing on the wall regarding his NFL career but what’s most unfortunate in all of this is the status of his bank account. With four children and four angry baby mamas — three of which have put him on blast on national TV — Terrell’s problems are not going to end with his football career. It’s time he start looking into a gig as a sports commentator or get some other kinds of endorsements because unless he accepts his time on the turf is done, none of the Owens’ are going to be eating, much less have a roof over their heads.

What do you think about T.O. being cut?

I know his baby’s mamas are hot! They will unfortunately have to get a job. Terrell, you need to stop burning bridges, you cannot do that. If there are any NFL players or NBA players, reading this blog, I know you think this will never happened to you, you need to think twice. Just because you are temporarily rolling in bank, that is not going to last forever and you will not be in professional sports forever, you really need to sit down after you get signed, take a money management class, so you know where you money is going and who is managing it. (I know this is foolish and a waste of time), you need to have a plan in place when you get cut from a team, injuried, or no longer can play. You need to get some education and training in other areas besides professional sports. And also just because you can have all the women you want even though they are FINE to you, that DOES NOT mean you have screw every single one of them. This is so stupid and foolish, I don’t know where they get the ideas from that you have have sex with anything that looks like a woman. You need to stop listening to those ignorant peers. Get with somebody that has stayed on the right track with their lives. GOLD DIGGERS comes in ALL races. I know you find that a challenge to believe, it not just black women that are gold diggers. That five seconds of pleasure could cost you a lifetime of pain and child support payments. Sadly, some of these people refuse to even learn the lesson. I don’t have any empathy for any of these guys.

I hope many young men will learn from T.O. When you’re succesful you need to still practice safe sex. Just because you can pay for your child’s care doesn’t mean it’s right to make kids with several women, like it’s part of your bucket list. Try to be the type of man you would want your son to be and you would love your daughter to marry. I’m done

in the words of Beyonce (or whomever wrote the song) ‘Sucks to be you right now…’

  • Kayo

    Sucks for him.

I am not surprised. Based on what I have read, this Terrell did not have not yet learned his lesson. He missed catches on the field during the preseason. He needs to take classes and get some other skills. He just refuse to learn the lesson.

T.O you need to get it together, maybe you should settle for being a coach to little kids or something cause playing isnt working for you….you can always go to the dolphins lol they’re doing so bad and they just dropped ocho so they may have an open spot!!! lol

His ego and bad attitude got him in this position with his career. He couldn’t get along with anyone because of. His ego (again) and belief that’s he’s rich and invincible got him in the situation with these women. Now that karma has rolled around, he sees the error of his ways (or maybe not).

    • StuckInDaMatrix

      Most likely not!

  • Yay!

He had his chance…You reep what you sow.

  • TRUTH IS

Karma is a beech…..men who dont take care of their kids, gets no blessings!!

I cannot agree more that TO made a lot of mistakes and has placed himself in this terrible predicament however, TO was paying these women from 5-20 stacks (each) a month for support for a total of 40+ thousand a month. I have taken care of my 3 kids and put 2 through college on much less than that, these women are and were golddiggers. How dare they cry broke after getting that much money for all these years. I feel bad for the kids but their trifling money hungry mamas may be getting a little taste of KARMA as well. That’s what you get when you may it a point to get preggers by a man with money. They should do like the rest of us and get a job. I hope the man can find something to do to make a living and also spend more time with his kids but those mothers don’t need that much money to support those children.

What T.O. seems to need more than anything is the ability to take good advice when he hears it. Hall of Famer Jerry Rice made it a point to try to mentor T.O. throughout his career with regard to playing on the field, dealing with money, and dealing with women, but T.O wouldn’t listen to him. Jerry told him multiple times that just because you can sleep with a woman doesn’t mean you should. Guys with his type of contract have a huge target on their backs from unscrupulous women who will just try to use him as an early retirement plan. I bet T.O wished he payed a little more attention to what Jerry Rice was trying to tell him.
