Get Ya Mamas: EnVogue Is Going Nuts With The Twitter Beef

August 17th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

So last month we found out that EnVogue was splitting — via Twitter —and now we see the ladies are suing each other and hoping to get a reality show — via Twitter again.

It’s hard to know what exactly these women are beefing over considering it’s 2012 and the group hasn’t been hot since like ’99, but from the letter Cindy and Terry sent to their fans last month, they’ve added a new member to their group, Rhona, who they claim isn’t Maxine’s replacement, despite the fact that she’s now performing in Max’s place. From the looks of things, Maxine and Dawn are doing their own thang though, legally.

Two days ago they unleashed these tweets which That GrapeJuice.net caught:

Mmmm. Mmmm. Mmmm.

I can see Maxine being upset she was replaced but Twitter is NOT the place to air this laundry. It’s annoying enough when people in their early 20 tweef like this, but these women are 48 and 50 years old. Cut it out. Especially when it’s clear the motivation is to get attention (and possibly a reality show). Can’t a manager handle those types of things without people having to degrade themselves online?

Anybody who was hoping for an EnVogue reunion can kiss those dreams goodbye, but from the looks of things a reality show may have to be the next best thing. Sigh.

Oh, and of course, the tweets have since been deleted (to stop the retweets so Maxine says).

I’m just mad that Dawn didn’t use the right “their” in her retweet…smdh “they’re” means “THEY ARE” DAWN…wooosai #getitright

    • deschl

      there, their, they’re

  • CarlaKah

    messy

  • Guest

Sounds cheesy to me! I love EnVogue’s talent but this is almost as relevant as my posts are on twitter.

  • toya

I’m beginning to think this whole spectacle is for their so-called reality show..

  • mottie

Well, they are quite clever, these ladies took to tweeter and made those remarks in hopes of stirring up some viewers for there up coming reality show. These ladies are old news…this maybe the only way to get people to watch, think about it. What are they 50 something?

  • Erika

Messy.Messy.Messy. I don’t understand why people have to air their dirty laundry on social networks like cellphones don’t exist. They should be like Beyonce and post fake pictures of how perfect and magnificent their lives are. lol!!!

  • Treacle234

Whocares, I don’t know any of their songs. Then again, they were before my time. Ladies, stay at home and be good grandparents.

  • WhoMe

    Snooooooze!

  • Hello_Kitty81

They’re 48 and 50?! I remember I was like 7 or 8 when they came out, now I feel old. Plus I thought they broke up before 2000.

Envouge needs to realize they are old school yesterday’s music folks are not interested in them today. All of this shows their immaturity and desperatness to be back on the scene again. The best that they can do at this point and time is maybe hook up with the O’Jays and go on an oldie but goodies tour giving him something he can feel and never gonna get it will not cut it anymore

    • Hello_Kitty81

And old school music is way better than today’s garbage!

  • BAPS

I don’t know why they just don’t leave well enough alone, pull up thier p a n ties and each do the solo thing like Latoya Luckett … life is too short.
It’s funny tho, “En Vouge” is on tour, they even opened for a few major artists this summer, have a few shows coming up and performing at the LA County Fair in Cali with Boys II Men & BabyFace next month and now they’re beefing? I can see if one member has a prob because they were replaced and missing out on $$ but where does the 2nd person -Dawn- come in cosigning if she’s still in the group touring… wouldn’t that cause more beef and tension? Yeah this may be a lil staged.

  • baddvixentype

EnVogue is over. They’re not gonna have some big comeback They need to let it go and move on with life. sorry

    • realadulttalk

Why are you sorry? They’ve been staging this “comeback” since the mid 90′s–anything you’ve been trying to do for that long and have yet to accomplish is nothing more than a pipe dream.

  • T_Rocka1975

OMG one of my most favoritest (I know this is not a word) group in the world messy like that.

  • Mia

    Twittering twats!

  • jaimuziq

It’s sad they’re going through this on Twitter but don’t be surprised when they end up with their own show, they’ll be perfect for vh1 cuz they’re all about foolishness lol

  • Kitsy

Hmmm…I’m wondering if this is part of the publicity for their reality show. It doesn’t seem authentic to me. #Dont_believe_the_hype

  • Na Na

Brande shut yo mouth! You said get yo mama’s! I’m over here cracking up. lol

WOW!! Twitter is the DEVIL!! I keep tryna tell folks!! I hardly ever get on anymore!! & it’s definitely sad to see these women going at it like they’re in their 20s (not that it’s okay at that age either)!!!

Oh well, let me cut up this Funky Divas!!

its just sad to see women do this period.

    • Laout

Yea, it’s Twitter that’s the problem. I agree it’s sad to see them still going at it since they have apparently fought more than they have gotten along during their time in the spotlight. But it appears that these ladies are just trying to become relevant again and by any means. It’s a shame because they are more talented than this publicity tactic shows.

  • sammi_lu

ohhh they some messy and catty old biddies…not a good look.

    • Amija James

I always thought they were classy! Fooled me!
