Power Couples In Action: Will & Jada Sign On To Produce ‘Watch The Throne’ Documentary

After Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter signed on to produce the soundtrack of the “Annie” remake with Will & Jada Smith, the threesome have joined forces for another major music project.

The New York Daily News reports, that the Smiths’ production company, Overbrook Entertainment, produced the rapper’s forthcoming Robert Lopuski-directed film aptly titled, “Watch The Throne,” which documents the recording process behind Carter’s 2011 platinum-selling album with Kanye West.

Sources revealed to the Daily News that the Hollywood couple is “confirmed” to be in attendance during the docu-flick’s premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on September 9, though it’s uncertain whether the Grammy Award-winning rap duo will be on hand.

Carter’s partnership with the Smiths production imprint adds to the mogul’s ever growing portfolio of business ventures.

    The worship of Jay and Bey is getting out of control, all these other celebrities bowing to them like they are gods. They are looking out for each other. Why is a film done about Watch the throne, it’s not like Jay z has done anything to impact the youths or community or his music speaks of meaningful things. It’s just him praising himself again. So done with the Carters, and if I hear First Lady talk about her obsession with Bey again, I will be done with her too. I don’t understand why these people can’t use their popularity, money and status to stand for social issues as a way of giving back to the community that gave them what they have now. Without the consumers, you won’t be where you are now. I want to thank Mr Belafonte for speaking the truth.
