About That House Key…Benzino Explains His Overnight Lovefest With Karlie Redd

About 99.9% of “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta” viewers are grossed out by Benzino and Karlie Redd’s relationship. Sloppy on-screen kiss and fake tears aside, most fans are wondering how they’ve gone from meeting in the parking lot to having an at-home date in matching clothes to getting a house key in the span of a week. Thankfully, Benzino did an interview with The Breakfast Club to help us get at least a little bit of a better understanding. See if these snippets help:

How he got on the show

I never went to get casted or nothing, I kinda just fell into it. I had been doing some music with Stevie. Me and Stevie been friends for like 10 years. He had already went to the casting…I went on the show originally to give him some advice (in the car). Next thing you know I had met Karlie and I met her off camera. Then I got a call from Mona to see if I wanted to be on camera.

How he got with Karlie Redd

We had met off camera, we went out. The next thing you know…everything happened so fast. We was filming for three months.

How much time passed before he gave her a key to the house

Before she got the key, it would have been two months.

Whether Karlie is really talented

She does that patwa really good. She’s Trinidadian. She has a voice. A lot of singers out here are auto-tuned up anyway. I think definitely producers can work with her. She let me hear a lot of her music. I believe she has talent.

If she’s using him to help her career

She’s real, real motivated about her career. A lot of women are. It’s not easy dating celebrities because that becomes their number one thing and you have to cater to that.

Was he portrayed accurately

When it comes to women, I’m a good guy. If I’m into you, there’s nothing that I won’t do for you. I know how to treat women. I won’t disrespect them.

If they’re getting married

You have to watch the show…I got the ring.

    Ok I’m not answering the question re: their relationship, if they love it, f it. However, eminem is not rascist the rap he did re: black women, is no worse then what black men say and rap about black women everyday. The man was freestyling rapping and let’s be real, for some reason, no rappers can keep black women out their mouth.

    I’m glad he explained that–although he still looks a lil silly over this. She’s a golddigger! Heck yeah she’s using you in an effort to start (I refuse to say maintain-b/c I never heard of her before this show and I had the nerve to see Scream Queens so she wasn’t memorable) her career. At least he didn’t lie about her singing…he skated all around that question. She has a voice-so does everyone with functioning vocal cords. She has talent–everyone has a talent. Lmao–just admit she can’t sing!!! We heard that mess ya know!

    this show may be scripted, but I really do believe two people can meet and in a short amount of time get in a serious relationship and eventually get married. I have family members that were engaged at one month. They have been happily married for over 20 years. I think when two people are at a point in their life that they are confident in what they want, then the relationship can move quickly. I was engaged to my husband after three months of dating. We were friends first, then started dating. To this day, I don’t think we moved to quickly, i knew he was my husband when i met him. I also have a friend that married in the same amount of time and they are happily married. I don’t know for sure about Karlee and Benzino, but it surely can happen. Now, I am not saying to be foolish and go out there and try to marry the first man u see. Just be led by GOD. I received confirmation that my husband was mine even before he asked, so I wasn’t surprised. Just be prayful and not desperate.

    Without a doubt this is scripted and a fake relationship. They just do too much. Over acting like a mug. They just too old so be so desperate. Crying and ish, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Mona is just full of Sh!t fareal. Out of all the SCRIPTED drama and relationships on the show this one disgust me the most…right next to the scenes when mimis over acting trying to cry to or about ‘Steebie” like she really hurt.     So the show IS scripted…Benzino clearly stated that they met OFF camera. The scene we saw for the first meeting was really weeks after they had already established a relationship. Hey, but I’m still wacthing!
