Will Diana Ross Take Custody Of Michael Jackson’s Kids If Necessary? Maybe, Maybe Not.

As most people know, Diana Ross is the godmother of Michael Jackson’s kids. In his Will, he named her as their guardian should anything happen to his mother, Katherine Jackson.

Well after the whole “Katherine Jackson is missing” public Jackson family fiasco that lasted for nearly two days, it’s clear that the 82-year-old matriarch’s death could mean utter chaos for MJ’s kids.

Can the kids count on their godmother to take custody of them if something happens to their grandmother and their temporary guardian T.J.?

Reports say yes…

During a visit to the Calabasas home last week, Diana Ross, made it clear she would step in if necessary, and made Paris promise to call her “no matter what.”

“Yes, Miss Ross. I will,” Paris replied, according to the source.

The diva left a clear message to the family. “Mess with Michael’s kids, and you’re messing with her,” the source said.
During the powwow, Ross held Katherine Jackson’s hand, looked into her eyes and asked her if the family had made it too difficult for the grandma to handle guardianship.

Katherine told Ross she could handle it, and the two embraced.

…and other reports say no.

While Ross is quite fond of Jackson’s children, friends say she feels strongly that they belong with his immediate family.

“Diana has no intention of taking those kids,” said a source close to Ross. “She has her own life on the East Coast and wouldn’t want to uproot them to come live there. That wouldn’t be fair to anyone, particularly those kids.”

Both reports agreed that 68-year-old legend was surprised about the Will and Michael’s wishes that she take care of the children in the event of his mother’s death. Others are saying that she has to sign off on the proposed joint custody agreement between Katherine and T.J.

What is Diana herself saying regarding the custody issues and whether or not she’ll assume custody if the need arises?

 ”All interests are best served if it remains private.”

Well, we don’t disagree with that sentiment, but it’s the Jackson’s; therefore, nothing is private. They certainly see to that.

    I can’t see this–again with someone who is too old to be raising children. Her kids are grown–that’s a major burden to take on for someone who is not blood (ok ok they may not have any blood relatives willing to take them in-but you get what I’m saying). Especially when one (Paris) is extremely headstrong and possibly prone to disrespect (based on reports–heck can anyone tell what’s true regarding this family???). And yes-it looks like she lost part of a boobie in that pic…maybe the kids could help her find that.

    why didn’t he leave them to Rebe? she is the only one who has managed to stay private all these years. even Janet is a good choice. they probably don’t want to go with her because she maybe a little strict. they’ll be alright…just stay away from Jermaine, lol! just playing!

    I can’t see it. I don’t think Diana’s trying to raise anybody’s kids. It’s hard for me to imagine her having been a nurturing mother to her own kids. But, at 68, I wouldn’t want that responsibility either.

    I am sick of people talking about passing these kids around like a hot potato. As a child having to pack up and move to a different care takers house every few weeks is emotionally and mentally destabilizing. More and more Michael Jackson seems to be (oddly) the only sane person in the family.

    I hope she will take the custody so that Michael Jackson’s children will have some protection and stability staying away from the vultures.

    Diana Ross, doesn’t look like the type that wants to take care of teenagers. She’s too divaish for that.

      “Diva” or not, this woman has raised 5 (yes, FIVE) successful children who all seem to have their heads screwed on straight, mostly on her own (you know, between hubbys)…and I don’t care how much money you have, that is not an easy feat and should not be overlooked.

      Immediate family can s*ck it, this woman is clearly the best choice to raise these children. They’ve proven time and time again how unfit their family is for ANY children to be raised in. Plus Diana doesn’t take any crap from anyone, especially not some teenagers. Heck, I’d let her keep MY kids lol.
      Her kids didn’t grow up in the media’s view because she kept it that way, and trust, she was famous enough when they were younger for it to have happened had she allowed it. But she knew better and obviously had their best interests at heart, like a GOOD MOTHER does. All those little antics Paris has been pulling lately? Not under Diana’s roof, no sir. Say what you will about her divatude…they don’t call her Ms. Ross the Boss for nothing. #teamdiana

        They were HER kids and it was YEARS ago. And I could be wrong–but I’m pretty sure she had assistance in the form of a father to raise her kids. She may be “a boss” but she’s not getting any younger and has had no reason to be up on all that the kids are doing these days. If they don’t have respect for their actual family–how long do you think respect for her would last? I’ll answer–right up until she does something they don’t agree with.
