“I Was Bruised And Bleeding” K. Michelle Details Her Physical Abuse From Memphitz

Days after her single “Kiss My A**” released on ITunes, K. Michelle sat down with The Breakfast Club and gave shocking details about the fight that ended her relationship with Memphitz. She also talked about her beef with Toya Wright and Carlie Redd.

I feel like I never came for [Toya] as a woman. It was about me and him and it’s okay. It’s ok to be ride or die for your man, but know what you are riding for. You wasn’t around me. You was still hoppin on your other boy. You were still about that life then. If I’m saying in every interview, you know what, I’m proud of her thats another woman doing her thing it’s good. But I’m going to tell my story, what happened to me. And then you consistently take shots at me and I consistently turn the other cheek? I don’t do that.

K. Michelle said she knows that Memphitz is probably telling Toya lies about her.

It’s cool, I’m not trippin off that. Men will tell you stuff, but don’t come for me. Just say, I believe my husband. Don’t come for me because that’s not what you want to do.

When they asked her if Memphitz gave her bad contract because they were in a relationship she said no because “he does bad business with everybody.” She said that she isn’t trying to make him out to be a bad person.

I thought that was my knight in shining armor. We’re both from Memphis. He gave me my dream. I was 19, like ‘yes this is it I’m on my way! That’s my Tommy Mottolla it’s time to go!’ It went wrong. It got so intense. Honestly, I never was saying that he was a bad person. I knew he had temper issues but at the same time I also knew his background. And his background, you know the Klu Klux Klan killed his daddy. He doesn’t know where his daddy’s body is. People would call up to the label and say ‘Hey I know where your daddy’s body is. Give me some money.’

As far as what made the arguments turn physical, she admits that she would argue with him, but didn’t hit him first:

I wasn’t just sitting there innocent, but I didn’t hit him first. I did not. I didn’t do anything. He blacked out. It wasn’t just a restraining. I was smothered with a towel. He hit me in the head with a water bottle. It wasn’t nothing small. I was bruised up and bleeding.  What shocked me the most was the smothering. I was crawling and climbing to get away. Once I got away he was doing it again. He yanked me. I had carpet burns. I looked in his face and it did not look like him. I was screaming, “It’s me”. After that I left.

He was texting saying “I miss you, I’m sorry, I made a mistake. I really couldn’t forgive it because then he started saying “I made you”. When he started saying he made me then I started getting mad because I did not press charges because I loved him and I didn’t want him to get in trouble. I didn’t want him to lose his job. I still loved him. I just didn’t want to be with him. It got bad when R. Kelly came in.

She said Memphitz was upset about R. Kelly and felt that R. Kelly was trying to steal his artist. She says though their relationship was over, when she started talking, his threats escalated.

When I started doing interviews, I said I’m telling my story because he was still threatening me. He said if I kept telling he was going to kill my son. He’s crazy. He would spaz out. I kept every text message. The text messages and lawyer freed me from the label.

    Way to go Mona Scott Young you knew having K Michelle reveal the abuse would start beefs with the abuser and his new wife, and all her friends, start drama on the show and get folks buzzing about her again….this is a great marketing plan…*applause*

    Memphitz looks like he is that type of dude . Lets be real Memphitz is an enabler its always about money and business. More than likely he did beat up K. Michelle because he knew that eventually her talents would overshadow him as a producer/manager or whatever he does. The statement that he made “I made u”…………….hmmm ever seen “Whats love got to do with it”

    Here’s my problem with her she says one thing and does the opposite I watched as she talked about how she wants a rough neck but is shocked when the rough neck roughs her up. Let’s be clear in no way am I saying that domestic violence is ok but you shouldn’t be surprised when the thug beats you. I am not entirely convinced of her whole story but I know for sure something is off. I just pray she get the help that she clearly still needs because whatever happened she isn’t over it and needs counseling. And can someone please tell me exactly what Toya said that would lead her to believe she was “coming for her” and I don’t mean something that we insinuated she said but said directly.

      Hitting a woman does not make you a thug-it makes you a b*tch. I also like my men a little rough around the edges (I prefer educated thugs–men with education but who are very in tune with the streets) so does that mean I like to have my behind whooped?? No it just means I have a preference and I know what men I can deal with and who is more likely to be able to deal with me. I don’t think anything is off with her story-she didn’t go into major details at first–seems she was almost taunted into them. And coming at someone is relative to that person. Not everyone is gonna take a subliminal shot (that they know is referring to them) on the chin…I for one would not. Speak about me subliminally only if you intend to deal with me realistically–I sense she has that same way about her.

      Why don’t you ask the millions of black women that are domestic abuse victims to just “get over it”. You women like Toya who ride for these dogs are the reason they are never stopped.         Thank u @ machelle Kwan!!! I’m sick of these women riding for this Mephitz guy! When Toya first started going out with him I said I don’t know about this guy he seems thirsty! But, I believe K. Michelle! Toya will be singing that same tune as K. Michelle when the tables turn! I say she need to speak on it and don’t be intimidated by that lame Memphitz! I’m reading some of these comments shaking my head! It’s ridiculous!

          And that’s the truth. Toya need to wake up…whether he hit her or not…she was released from the label without financial recourse.

        whewww, u took the words right out of my mouth. how can you be that insensitive and say why don’t she just “get over it.” I hope I NEVER have that type of attitude towards someone that has experience abuse. Abuse don’t go away. Its not they beat one woman and not beat the next, it is a problem and they will abuse everyone woman they come in contact with unless they get some help. I know because i been there done that, but it only took one time for me. She is talking about the story because she is in the spot light right now, and u never know who that may help, if telling her story is going to get JUST ONE WOMAN out of an abusive relationship, then she can tell her story 30 different times in 30 different languages.

        So true. my mom has been with a guy that’s been abusing her for over 18 years. the new Gurl always thinks I can help change him but not true. you have to let that person help themselves or they will continue to beat. even something small can trigger a fight or beat down. its said to say I’ve witnessed this first hand from my mom and until that man gets help he will continue to pound on the next chick. hey I feel K. all the way. talking is a form of help and therapy.

      I totally agree. She needs to move on. I’m sure she was no battered woman. There’s a difference between fighting with your man and getting beat-up. I had a rough time in my last relationship. Our personalities just didn’t click. Did we come to blows a few times? Yes but I was no battered woman. There’s a big difference. She needs to move on.

    I find it inappropriate for her to bring his father into this. That’s not her place to mention what happened to his father…This is giving me the Chris Brown/Rihanna feel. How long ago did it happen? Why is it still being brought up? If your releasing new music, make your interviews be about that. B/c honestly your career is now being based on the fight between you & Memphitz rather than your talent. Whenever she talks about it, all i can think about is when she said “Different women bring out different things in men…” Which makes me believe she’s not telling the 100% truth about what happened. Not saying it was ok for her to get beat on, but admit your wrong doings in the relationship if your gonna keep telling the story

      I don’t think this woman is lying about him beating her. why would she?? what do she have to gain? a record deal? what kind of fame can u gain from telling a story of abuse. This may not sound like it make much sense to u, but domestic abuse never made sense to me, i never understood it, i just want the woman or man to remove themselves from the situation. What did she do wrong to get beat? what excuse do u have to beat a woman, he could have simply left and not return. I don’t think she lying, the only reason she said different woman brings different things out in men, because she didn’t want to go around saying, yeah, he is going to beat u. But I assure u, he will beat the next woman, because he has a problem and unless he get some professional help, he will do it again. So far his sake, he may want to admit it at least to his wife and go get some help.

        I never said she was lying about the beating. I’m just saying i don’t believe she’s telling the whole story. This girl got a mouth. She’s crazy. Even her manager said so on the show. So i refuse to believe that she just sat there & he came out of no where beating on her. I’m not saying a man hitting a woman is ok, b/c its not. & i’m not taking up for Memphitz. I’m just saying i believe K.Michelle was acting a certain way for everything to escalate to him laying hands on her. She was not innocent in the situation. Women believe they can talk/treat a man anyway or hit them b/c they are women & can’t get hit back. But everybody has a breaking point. I believe some of what Memphitz said (about her acting up & him trying to handle her w/out getting hit) & i believe some what of her story. But she wants the rough neck, thug. Those type of men aren’t so sweet either, says something about her character…But it’s not fair for anyone in here to say Toya needs to watch out, he’s gonna beat on her too. How man cases does Memphitz have of abusing women? Everybody always say we need to forgive Chris Brown, it was only one time. But that doesn’t apply to Memphitz? Then i guess Chris’ girlfriend should be careful b/c he might just beat on her like he did Rihanna?

          Well, she DID admit to arguing with him. All she said was that she never hit him first. I’m sure she said things to get a rise out of him, but he still needs to know how to walk away from a situation that has the potential to get physical.

    What has happened to K Michelle. Her parents are professional educators and she was raised in a middle class home. I wonder why she is selling her soul for fame.

      I don’t think she is selling her soul for fame. When she first told her side of the story she never said Memphitz’s name, Tamar Braxton is the person who revealed the man K. Michelle was referring to as her abuser.

        True cause I still watch the LHHOA and didn’t know his name until I saw the Twitter message. its sad because no1 on the show not even rasheeda said his name. they all said he’s my dude or he would never do that. but no names said. and as far as toya it seems like this dude came out of nowhere for her to marry him.
