Harsh Words: Lupe Fiasco Says President Obama Kills Little Children

*Lupe Fiasco is an outspoken artist who trails the path for younger and even older rappers in the industry.

His witty tongue and courageous heart have won him the reputation of being a politically conscious artist, truly saying what he’s observed.

His most recent controversy stems from his thoughts about the president.

On a radio interview with Philly’s Power 99, he blatantly said Obama is a baby killer.

“One hand, you have someone who is a great speaker, but kills little children – our president,” he noted. “I’m talking about ordering a drone attack. Ordering drone attacks that go and kill mothers, innocent bystanders, children. Militants too, but the collateral damage. You’re responsible for that, too.”

Lupe was referring to the recent drone attacks on alleged Al Qeda forces. However, drones are increasingly being used more to enforce the law domestically.

The rapper isn’t fazed by the president’s intentions. Instead, he believes the president is responsible for all life taken by his hand.

    Oh you liberals don’t get you panties in a wad, if it had been Bush he would have said the same thing it doesn’t matter what party it is.

    And BTW Obama deployed more troops in the middle east in seven months than Bush did his whole term. Obama kept the war in Iraq going longer than Bush would have(Bushes plan would have ended it in 2009, (It went till 2011 and we still have troops there) Bushes fault or the guy who actually deployed them’s fault. hmm, such a tough question for liberals I’ll just spell it out for you OBAMA IS A WARMONGER-ER!

    As a black anti-war conservative, I definitely feel Lupe’s disgust at the policies that Obama endorses, but also think Lupe went too far.

    But most of all, I commend Lupe. Openly being black and not an Obama supporter can be social suicide.

    His statement makes it seem like POTUS doesn’t care about civilians being killed. There is no doubt in my mind that everyone who is innocent and killed in war has some impact on him. My father was a soldier and suffered from PTSD. An operation went wrong in Afghanistan and 6 civilians were killed. He could name everyone person who had been killed, and he always remembered their faces. He had flashbacks of that day until he died. Those images never go away. POTUS has said before that every attack has to go through him. That takes a serious MAN to do that. I seriously doubt POTUS, who has taken responsibility for civilian deaths before, is nonchalant about the deaths of anyone at war.

    While, I get what Lupe is saying, he is making it seem like Obama is purposely trying to kill civilians. He obviously isn’t.

    I hate when rappers try to get political and end up sounding like uninformed imbeciles. We are in the middle of WAR! Civilians are going to get caught in the crossfire. It’s horrible. It’s sad but it’s something that can not be avoided. I’m not exactly for the wars we choose to fight either, however, how do you suppose we act in a war? As someone else said, will a hand-written letter help? lol Do you seriously think people who have no problem killing themselves are suddenly going to choose to take the fight into an abandoned field just because innocent people are going to be in the middle of the war? Not likely. It’s a sad but true fact. I’m sure if there was a better way to get the bad people while saving the good from harm, the President will do it but there has yet to be a method to do such a thing. If Mr. Fiasco has a better way to accomplish that goal, by all means, let’s hear it instead of getting on his high horse to down the President for doing what he needs to do to keep this country (and the world) safe from these psychos.

    Terrorists use civilians as “human shields”. As soon as air strikes or drone strikes come, the terrorists run and hide in the villages or areas where civilians are, in an attempt to get the US soldiers not to shoot – they are trying to use our soldier’s niceness and conscience against them.

    Well, obviously with drones that element is not there…..I hate war just like everyone else, but to insinuate that Obama is purposely ‘killing babies’ is extremely dumb.

    Lupe I agree, however I’m from Chicago, born, raised and still live on the Westside and heavily involved in the entertainment scene here, thats my job, and I can say that besides free concerts Lupe does not give a whole lot back to our community. Not that it is his responsibility just because he is rich BUT if you’re gonna talk big ish please back it up! We need help here, and unfortunately the crazies and the gang members running around killing everybody would wholeheartedly listen to Lupe and Kanye…..if only they cared enough to make a concrete and substantial call to action. President Obama definitely could do a lot more for the city…..

    Ladies, Lupe is speaking the truth, as hard as that is to realize. EVERY life does matter. Also, Lupe is VERY active in his home town’s community, he has generate groups to end the inner city violence. I love Obama too, but the policies hes inherited and enforcing are evil.

    He should be more upset that his homeboys are killing each other and innocents civilians in their own nonsensical war. Where is his outrage over that? shedding tears for homies who aren’t around anymore isn’t stopping the violence. Be pissed at what’s going on in your own back yard and criticize those who are pulling the triggers in your own neighbor hood. Or else take two seats and shut the F up about a war and civilians overseas the same way you are quiet about the civilians in Chicago being terrorized by young black males.

    that statement is pretty broad. if war was pretty and could b contained then we wouldnt hv casualties.the only ppl dying would b soldiers. to accuse Obama regarding casualties of war is dumb. I do not condone war but ppl die in wars. Lupe’s incendiary comments actually make him sound not so smart. does he want a guarantee that only the “bad” guys will b killed. this aint the movies…its real life and ppl die in real life wars. his comments r a bit childlike in nature. he should hv concrete facts .

      Exactly. It’s not only about what Lupe said, he just sounds like not a “sharp” guy. If you are going to make a statement, have a reasonable argument but Lupe makes absolutely no sense. I don’t support every one of President Obama’s policy but he’s making some effort. And, he’s a better leader than Bush and also better than Romney.

    Drones strikes have killed fewer than 100 civillians and killed thousands of terrorists. Lupe needs to sit down he sounds like Fox news reject. I hope people have registered to vote and are helping the Obama campaign

      But it still killed civilians. That’s what he’s trying to say. You have to take responsibility for all of what happens, not just the good stuff like killing terrorists. The people who lost innocent family to the strikes don’t care about the terrorists dying, they just grieve for their family.
