As women, we often hear that men are like fine wine and get better with age, but according to Jada Pinkett Smith, so do we!
The actress will be forty-one in two months, but that didn’t stop her from tweeting a picture of herself in a bikini this weekend.
The mother of two has always been thin, but she also works out regularly. Jada told Shape Magazine that she has been physically active ever since she was kid when her mother enrolled her in gymnastics, dance, and horseback riding.
She also admitted to the magazine that, though she bakes, she doesn’t cook.
I can’t cook! It’s genetic. My grandmother can’t cook, my mother can’t cook. I was raised to believe you eat because your body needs fuel for energy, so I eat superfoods.
“Superfoods” are foods that are low in calories and high in nutrients. Jada reportedly maintains a low-carb, high protein diet and stays away from junk foods. She also does cardio and weight exercises as well as yoga. In the past she has said she does simple pelvic floor exercises to “keep the sex hot” with her husband of fifteen years.
Jada and Will have denied divorce rumors recently, but if there is trouble in paradise then Jada is showing that it’s not because she fell off the fitness bandwagon. Of course we know that, in Hollywood, a fantastic body has never kept a couple together (Sorry Demi Moore!).
Still, Jada’s commitment to physical fitness is inspiring to women both over and under forty. Our society focuses on youthful women, but it’s refreshing to hear a celebrity encouraging us to ignore the hype.
