Why Wasn’t Anyone Watching Him? Violent 9-Year-Old Attacks Infants at Daycare

The purpose of a daycare center is for someone to watch children when their parents can’t, but workers at the Kiddie City Childcare Center in Vicksburg, MS, totally dropped the ball when a 9-year-old boy attacked  several young children for nearly a half hour and nobody even noticed.

Surveillance video captured the child punching one little girl multiple times; choking another, then patting her on the back as she cries; kicking one kid; and violently shaking yet another. Police released the footage after former daycare worker Sandra Trevillion was arrested and charged with two counts of contributing to the neglect of a minor for letting this behavior carry on.

“This 9-year-old child, he was allowed to pretty much run rough shot over that entire room for a period of 15 to 20 minutes,” Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong told KLTV. “All his actions went unnoticed.”

Jamie Williams,  a parent of one of the girls the boy attacked, was also arrested following the incident. He said his daughter came home for about a week with injuries, including a busted lip and a bite mark on her chin, and he was angered when daycare workers couldn’t give an explanation as to why his 1-year-old was repeatedly getting hurt. He ended up slapping a boy he thought was responsible for the injuries but it was the wrong child and Williams was later arrested and charged with simple assault.

“I understand why Jamie Williams would be upset. However, even if he had attacked the nine year-old he still would have been arrested and it would have been just as wrong as him attacking the six year-old,” Armstrong said.

Trevillion was being held on a $2,656 bond and police have interviewed the 9-year-old and his mother but it’s unclear whether he will face charges. His aunt, Vinia Dolley, tried to explain his behavior in an interview with WLBT.

“He['s] bad. He fight[s] but he don’t fight little babies,” she said. “He do[es] also have a problem. He take[s] medicine every day and he['s] just a normal child. I feel bad about him jumping on a two year-old baby, he 9 years old. He don’t fight his own 2-year-old brother like that or cousins.”

At the very least, children’s services needs to step in and see what type of environment this little boy has been exposed to that would make him behave so violently at this age.

Check out the disturbing video here. Do you think the boy should face charges?

Police would have found me STILL there wild as a rabid animal on EVERYBODY the size of a midget and up!!!

She didn’t have a clue, that every child he was around – was the one crying at the moment? Like, logic would tell you SOMETHING is going on. How careless, why is your back turned on the children so much, why is he even in the same room as the toddlers? So many questions, and I’m sure she has no answers for a judge. No words on the child right now… just praying CPS steps in and that his siblings survive his rage, in the meantime!

I would whip his little AZZ!!! and then Whip his Mama’s too!!

I don’t trust nobody to watch over my kids but me, and their father I thank god that i could be a stay at home mom. Most daycares don’t watch your kids. I feel bad for the parents that have to work and have no choice but to put their kids in daycare. Not all daycares is bad but a lot is. Know one can take care of your kids like you can. That 9 year old needs help, someone’s doing that to him.

  • Pivyque

That kid would have had to have every worker in there pulling me off of him. Did you see how hard he hit them?? If my kid had ONE mark…i’m raising all kinds of hell. A busted lip?? A BITE MARK?! I’m burning that place down…smh…he obviously KNEW it was wrong because he waited until they turned away. WHY WAS HE NOT IN CAMP or something? There are FREE summer activities for kids his age. He was way too old to be in daycare. That really just pissed me off.

If that 9 year old did that to my child, It would make it worth going to jail for what i would do…

  • Piscesgirl

What also pisses me off besides the obvious is that unfortunately that childcare center looked piss poor and inadequate. The people aren’t making any $$ probably and obviously don’t give a damn about those kids.

People are opening up childcare centers left and right looking to cash in and have no experience or credentials. They’re just cheap as hell and poor people are forced to go to them out of necessity. Good affordable childcare should be available to everyone. Parents and kids shouldn’t be afraid to send their children/go to school. The kids who weren’t hit are probably just as terrified as the ones who were.

No one can convince me of anything different…there are demonic spirits being heavily released in this world and they are getting a hold on the kids.

Something is going on at home that’s likely either physically and/or emotionally abusive as well as mental issues. WHY isn’t he with kids closer to his age???

I am so happy that the parents found out about this and the daycare and the crazy child is going to go through somethings. I have been posting this up hoping a parent or some type of story would come through.

Also, I have a problem with Mr. James Williams:
    1) Not making sure that he hit the RIGHT boy
    2) Taking his little girl back to the school AFTER she had visible injuries. He said the daycare workers couldn’t explain them. Yet he left his daughter in their care again? If it had of been me, I would have asked for an explanation the day that I picked her up from the day care. If they couldn’t tell me something, I would have called the police, child protective services, the media AND my attorney the very day that very day right while I was on the premises.

THANK YOU!! My daughter’s daycare’s policy is to write accident reports for EVERY injury, even if it doesn’t leave a mark, they still have to write up a report on it for the parents and for their records! Its sad that some parents will stick their kids anywhere without proper research.

    • kieraht

A lot of people don’t have multiple childcare options. I’m sure they were gearing up for a lawsuit because the child’s injuries were documented.
Besides he didn’t have to hit the right boy. Right after you slap the taste out of some kid’s mouth, the point is made. He has become an example for anybody else that wants to beat his daughter.

      • NSimonefan

I disagree with you. So a parent doesn’t have multiple care options so they continue to bring their child into the same abusive environment where they could possibly end up dead the next time? Parenting is not about giving birth to a child and allowing other people to abuse the child. As far as your “he didn’t have to hit the right boy” comment, all I have to say is this— if I were the parent of that six year old, Mr. Williams would be in the hospital or the morgue.
