Baby, Bye! Celebs Who Took Their Baby Hair Too Far

In the ’90′s if you didn’t have baby hair, you weren’t doing much. Black folk across the country spent countless hours in the mirror, using a toothbrush and gel to shape the perfect swirl around their edges. Slick and sleek was the look and no one was trying to be caught with frizzy edges. Check out the artists who took the baby hair phenomenon to a whole new level.

Ginuwine

If we could dub anyone King of the baby hair it would be Ginuwine. Back in the ’90′s it was nothing for our R&B singers to really tap into their feminine sides. And Ginuwine certainly wasn’t shy. The only question we have is, was he the one standing in the mirror perfecting his baby hair or did he get Missy to do it.

    OMG i hated/hate ginuwine’s baby hair and that severe S-curl!! He looks soo freaky greasy!
    Missy’s finga waves are EPIC, those werent baby hairs
    in defense of the baby hair- some people (like me) have naturally jacked-up hair lines. for the first half-inch of my hair, its too short to do anything with it and it just looks disheveled. you gotta hit it with the Jam! or the black gel

    Marques Houston looked a hot fool mess…..It makes me itch when I see baby hair edges lined up…especially with cornrows. BUT baby hair with box braids was the business back in the day. If it wasn’t too tight it actually showed that your hair was growing. I can’t for the life of me understand how they make “baby hair” from lace front wigs. All of that effort to make the “baby hair” and make it believable could be put into making sure your own “baby hair” or edges are growing. Glue most certainly does not assure that….

    I remember seeing a Brandy barbie with baby hair at K-Bee back in the day. My friends and I thought it was hilarious. The funniest baby hair moment in my life was one night at bible study a mixed kid asked to go to the bathroom. He came back with the Michael Jackson edges from the beat it days and just stood in the doorway for a minute the whole class just died.
