True Life: I’ve Done Some Sweet, Stupid, Corny Things for Love

July 20th, 2012 - By madamenoire

When you’re caught up and your nose is wide open, there’s no telling what you’ll do or say to the object of your affection. If you weren’t so sprung, you might realize how sappy you sound; but since you’re so wrapped up in your emotions, nothing sounds more  fitting than the whisperings of sweet nothings, the expressions of love [or lust] and the gestures of gratitude or delusion that you render unto your boo. We took to our Facebook and Twitter page to see what some of our readers have done for love.

Deborah: Told him he was the man and engraved it on a cup.

Chakia: Constantly calling but he ain’t picking up…damn wasn’t I stupid.

Audrey: Tatooed his name on my A$$!

My friend was dating this guy named “justice” and I was unknowingly dating his cousin who invited me to their family get together. I was so thrilled to run into “justice” and said his name out loud. Everyone looked at me like I was nuts and I later on found out his name is Fred and he’s married with 5 kids!!!

I feel you Chakia. Just dumb smh lol. In the process of getting over an ex. Last week I rung his doorbell after I randomly saw him bring a girl over. [we live in the same neighborhood. his home is 3 houses from mine so I can easily see his house from my room window]. After he didnt come to the door I put a sappy note he had written me last year on his windshield and dropped off a big valentines day dog he got me. Looking back only a week later I already see how foolish and borderline crazy that was of me. Love and hurt can make a person act so out of their character. But hey. I just turned 21 last month so these are the years of fun, heartbreaks, and learning lessons right?

Sheryl Foolish- that wasn’t God working in a mysterious way, that was a lapse in good judgement/common sense on your part.
