Straight From The Pulpit: Juanita Bynum Admits To Sexual Affairs With Women

I wasn’t aware of this, but apparently there have been rumors circulating for years about televangelist and Gospel recording artist  Juanita Bynum having sexual affairs with women. According to Elev8.com, the buzz started back as early as 2007, with several blogs claiming she had been involved in a lesbian affair prior to her highly publicized divorce. Remember that “Divorce Court” debacle? Some sources even suggested there was a sex tape, and though the self-professed prophetess didn’t confirm or deny that particular rumor, she did admit to sleeping with women in an interview with the Frank and Wanda Morning Show on Atlanta’s V-103 station.

“I’ve been there and I’ve done it all,” she told the hosts. “I’ve [done] the drugs. I’ve been with men. I’ve been with women. It’s not a line, it’s my life.”

It’s not clear if that lesbian period occurred during her pre-pulpit days or if she was in fact sleeping with women while she was married. The pentacostal leader didn’t care to elaborate on those details, but she did discuss her testimony a bit more on Twitter:

“If my life’s testimony offends you then good. Now you can go serve Christ for real because he will never disappoint you ever!!! Testimony is what you get after something has been put to death, Maybe that’s why we don’t see a lot of them. You got to kill it to tell it. A real Christian is not ashamed of the gospel nor what the Gospel has done and will do!! Remember that!!!”

Yes mam. What do you think about Juanita’s coming out, so to speak, about her past lesbian affairs?

My wife has been suffering from thyroid cancer which was confirmed to be stage four, the doctor told me there was little he could do since she wasn’t responding to treatment but a friend of mine came to our rescue by ordering this hemp oil from RICK which he said has been helping some patient fight against cancer of various types so we decided to give it a chance, so far my wife is improving perfectly very well and presently she can walk around the house all by herself. I felt its necessary i let others who are suffering from this acute disease that once you have a good hemp oil it can really give one a sound second chance of living. by chance if you happen to be in need of this hemp oil you can contact RICK who supplied I and my wife with this email: ricksimpsonhempfoundation@gmail.com

  • Hattieli

She is human and like all of us made mistakes or did things in her life that was wrong, however God is a forgiving God to all of us. We have to realize that they are not God.

  • THEREALDEAL

…IF GOD SAYS HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SIN THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT IT IS….WE HAVE ALL SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF GOD’S GLORY….I WAS AMAZED AT THE CAVALIER WAY IN WHICH MS. BYNUM ADMITTED HER PAST INDESCRETIONS…..WHERE IS THE GODLY SORROW? THAT WAS A MOMENT TO MINISTER TO PEOPLE WITH THAT PROBLEM IN A COMPASSIONATE AND BIBLICAL MANNER…ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE IS ABLE TO RELATE TO THAT SITUATION…SO WHAT WAS THE MOTIVE AND WHAT WAS ACCOMPLISHED……………….HMMMMMMM…………..JUST SAYING

  • Chilly

It might have been the best thing for her to do by coming out about her past because if she didn’t, remember that there are still witnesses. Yes the women that she slept with are indeed living witnesses and in this day and age they Will tell it because they don’t think they are doing anything wrong and tired of hiding. That same mindset is what gets a lot of high profile people in trouble with homosexuals. I’ve seen it time and time again.
If you wander up and down the streets seeking drugs as i have in my past life before i was delivered, most dope dealers don’t know who you are when they sell to you in the dark behind dark alleys but it takes you and a witness to have sex and some people aren’t quiet. Some people are motivated to tell by money or their 15 minutes of fame or even those disgusted by the people they perceive to live one way and go sneak across the fence to get their (freak on) if you will. Just remember the Ted Haggert ordeal. I can see why she told it and i commend her for it. Just pray that the Lord Will keep her from her past desires because i have slipped up and fell back into drugs as a Christian only to pick myself back up and move on forward with the Lord again. And I firmly believe that the homosexual spirit is much stronger than the drug spirit because it has to do with human needs only that need is a perverted lie of Satan.

my emotions? what?…i replied to ur comment.its really not that serious.

  • Ms_Sunshine9898

if she’s already spoke on it and said it before, why is this news now? clearly that was a part of her life that she left long ago. .

    • NIka Nika

no mam I know for sure she has never said this before… I would dare to ask u where u heard this being said????

      • Ms_Sunshine9898

“she did admit to sleeping with women in an interview with the Frank and Wanda Morning Show on Atlanta’s V-103 station.

‘I’ve been there and I’ve done it all,” she told the
hosts. “I’ve [done] the drugs. I’ve been with men. I’ve been with women.
        It’s not a line, it’s my life.’ ”

that’s good enough for me right there. . .

  • Angel

Shes saying that this is apart of her PAST. Its apart of her testimony and shes saying that she dosent do any of those things (drugs &sleeping around) anymore. She never said anything about “coming out” as bisexual.

  • jan

Too much information. People need to learn to take certain things to the grave.

    • Erika

Really wasn’t much information. No details about “how” she’d been with women. I respect your opinion, though. My opinion is that if seasoned believers took everything to the grave, new believers would have no one to learn from. I think her testimony may help someone else who has struggled with this issue, or who shares this past and has not forgiven herself.

  • Penelope

Shame on you Madam Noir! Since you obtained your information from another source, the likelihood of this being true is very slim. According to your information she shared that with a congregation in 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are now in 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Furthermore, if the woman shared that she did these things in the past before she truly gave her life to Christ what is the problem?

Leave the woman alone! As a Christian I don’t judge her at all. I understand why as a preacher she opened up. Further, a lot of us Christians didn’t come to Christ sinless. Some of us have done far worse than her. I just thank God that once you are in Christ you are a new creation. The past is gone! And whatever you have done or will do, if you repent God forgives and forgets so who are you to bring this up?
Moreover, the bible describes satan as the “accuser of the brethren”. He is constantly bringing accusations against the believers. I think it is a shame when people don’t realise that satan is using them as his agent to do his work (to accuse people that have been redeemed).N.B Christ is our defence attorney who died for our sins so our sins cannot be held against us. Juanita’s sins cannot be held against her. Your sins cannot be held against you if you have really given your life to Christ.
Madam Noir stop allowing yourself to be used as the accuser of the Brethren!

  • Alexandria

These are things that she did before she met Christ.. any “born again” believer has a story of how you were before you met Christ and how you were after you met Christ. I got saved on April 11th 2011, but my life before that was VERY different than what it is now. The power of the Gospel (understanding how far away you were from God yet He made a way through sending His son Jesus to die for you and take away all your sins) to transform your heart’s desires to the point where you don’t want to commit those sins is unbelievable. :) all her story does is show how forgiving, mericful and loving God is. He forgives all things at all times no matter how bad it is. What a Savior! :D

  • Arelia

It really doesn’t matter what I think. If she say’s it’s in the past, then that’s where it belongs. We ALL have a past or two. It took a lot of guts to share that. How many of us would do the same if it were one of us? If God forgives her, and I’m sure He does, then who am I to cast stones? Thank God for His never ending MERCY! There but for the Grace of God go I. Hallelujah to Jesus!

  • Hello

And this is the same woman who told the world that Bishop Weeks (her exhusband) was gay! And the same woman who tried to fight for women abuse, after she got caught being abused. Some people need to just get out the pulpit trying to give others advice and guidance!

  • Rhonda Chambers

I can’t stand this fake jezebel.

    • Arelia

Be careful Rhonda…She is a child of God and He loves her just as much as He love you. You may wind up eating those words one day. Just sayin…

      • Erika

I’m so glad I’m not famous. People judge you based on what they see in a few minutes on TV. To not “stand” someone and you’ve never met them….unbelievable! She could be the sweetest person in person. Wearing makeup and nice clothes, does that make someone a Jezebel?

  • DangShame

I’m not a follower of Juanita Bynum, but WHY do we constantly try to bring each other down. She’s a minister, she told what she did and that’s what a testimony is. CRABS IN A BARREL…..sad that we still continue to try to dig and dig to bring each other down….but then again that’s what a gossip site is all about. Coming out? So now there will have rumors about this woman coming out because she testified and told the things she went through. Sad! That’s just my opinion.

  • Gimmeabreak78

Nothing about this chick surprises me. She just found a good hustle (convincing naive people that she’s some sort of prophetess). Just another player in the pulpit, SMH. However, I do commend her for telling her own dirt, instead of having someone else expose it for her.

    • NIka Nika

wow…. U said that thing! & have no idea!

  • MonicaC.

Evangelist Bynum! I commend you for being open and honest and real, we don’t see that too much in the body of Christ anymore, everyone wants to protray an image as if they been saved since they came out of their mothers womb, knowing the dirt and mess they were in before and during the time they met Christ! I don’t care what anyone has to say about you, but at that moment of telling your testimoney you were free! I’m so glad that God is not like man, because we all would be condemned to hell, may God bless you and keep you, and continue to be a blessing to those who are still in that dark place in their lives!

I once heard a pastor say from the pulpit, “Christians are the only ones who shoot to kill their own wounded.” Please, let’s leave judgment up to God.

    • Arelia

Thank you Miss Evvie! Christians are a trip! But more than that, female Christians! Why is it we just can’t love someone of at least keep our BIG MOUTH shut if we can’t say something edifying??? :-(

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=621092817 EvVie Hargrove

We overcome by the words of our testimony. Committing errors is what being human is all about, and I know I will make many more mistakes before my life is over. All we have is today, and we must put forth our best effort to live right and make peace with our Savior. We all have a past, and it takes much bravery to expose our secrets. Truth be told, I’d rather be the one putting my business on Front Street, rather than have someone capitalize from writing a tell-all book. With all the madness that’s going on in the world today, the least of my concerns is what someone else did in his/her bedroom. My problems are more important to me, but if someone else’s life can change by hearing Juanita Bynum’s story, that’s wonderful.

  • JaneDoe

Lawd, I can’t even touch this..

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_LPWWRRHN34PQ2GCP7H25L5YUSE Krilly

Christians are a special breed. This sister is being honest, testifying about her past, sharing that she’s been ‘there’ and managed to find her way to God as she relates to him. Now she’s being assaulted with ‘christian’ criticism & verbal gems from the “she could have kept that to herself” good-sister-chorus. Who themselves, BTW, are ‘glued to Gawd’ by their own perfect lives. Sad thing is they wouldn’t even let Jesus and his “ho” friends inside their churches. I truly hope it helps someone by Juanita speaking her truth. Just sayin’…

    • Erika

I totally agree. Didn’t Jesus say “they will know us (Christians) by the way we love?” Makes me wonder about the people who wear the title (Christian) yet HATE so much!

  • nina

every saint has a past and every sinner has a future. its not up to us to judge. she’s just living her truth, nothing wrong with that. makes it easier for people who are not perfect (which is all of us) to relate to her and hopefully choose the right path in the long run.

  • realadulttalk

Most people I know that were called to God have lived a VERY full life before receiving that calling so I’m not surprised.

  • Honey

I am still trying to figure out how God brought her a man that she prayed for that was someone else’s husband at the time….I never got past that one..

    • Rhonda Chambers

That’s how wicked Jezebels think. Those women are dangerous.

      • Arelia

No more dangerous than the next person. Please!

Disgusting, but she is from Chicago I hope she’s done with that foolishness!!

    • bits

what is so disgusting about it?

      • Arelia

Like I said, no more disgusting than other people’s sins. Sin is sin in God’s eyes. One is no more disgusting than the other. Enough said!

        • bits

ummm i was replying to christopher wilk not you.

    • Arelia

No more disgusting in God’s eyes than your sins (past, present, or future). Puh-leeze!

  • Ms. Blue

Confession is good for the soul, but bad for the reputation. She could have kept that one to herself.

    • bits

when people in the public eye have the courage to speak out and openly about their own truths, specifically in referencing homosexuality, it really helps others who are having problems dealing with who they are. She problem helped to liberate a lot of people through her courage to speak out.

      • Ms. Blue

I honestly think people say things for notoriety. Let’s face it, being homosexual, and/or bi-sexual, or having a homosexual experience is popular now. Juanita is still an entertainer Christian or not. I bet she said it to boost her fan base.

    • Negress

I did not need to know that.

      • Erika

        Well maybe someone else did….

      • Ms. Blue

        I know right?!

    • hattieli

No because one the people that she was with would have a tell all book on it;s way out, Plus Confession is good for the soul

  • writingmomma

When confession is made, then the heart can repent and be set free. I thank God today for deliverying Sister Bynum from her inner demons. When you hold onto something like that, it is almost like cancer. When secrets are hidden and not confessed, they fester. Sometimes, the presence of secrets even kills or destroys.
So, in saying that, I applaud you Sister Bynum for being real. There are too many standing in the pulpits thinking they can preach or teach the word and harbor demons within. When you know that someone has been through some of the same trials as you, you tend to listen to them a lot closer. Deliverance from lifes hurts, pains and struggles comes with confession and repentance.
Many want to be set free, just as Sister Bynum, but don’t know how to get there.
Many go to church, seeking release, only to be criticized for their confessions by members of a church that claim to be “Christians.”
I embrace you Sister Bynum with sisterly love. You can stand and sing with confidence, “I know I been changed.”
So, when someone has confusion (Satan is the author of confusion) is their hearts or lives and want to be set free, they can watch someone like Sister Bynum serve God with a clean conscience and a free heart.

    • http://www.facebook.com/richina.simmons Mrssimmons N Mrsimmons

She is human and we all make mistakes, but it bothers me that she had to say it like that, I never felt her spirit, oops! excuse me, “NO MORE SHEETS” there was a realness there, the spirit was present and if you heard what she was saying, she didn’t have to say it again, but then again she should have to confess it to GOD to get back in line with him. I am not perfect, and no one is, but after she became wealthy she knew what she was doing, she knew the preference of the man she was going to marry, I think she finally said enough, let me stop serving TWO GODS and praise the Lord my Saviour, but I just feel she could have spoken a little better to her followers. Remember that!!!”” I just don’t get it, I believe she is upset with herself, not CHRISTIANS! sounds flip sided.

    • HeyNow

I understand if she wants to be a testimony to someone, but I don’t ever think that telling the world your whole life is the same thing as being “free.” JMO. Acting like you are perfect and being in denial of your past is one thing, I mean we all have skeletons, but no one should feel required to tell the world about every single one of them..thats between you and God. I guess every one is different though.

      • Rhonda Chambers

Exactly. Especially when young impressionable teens would hear that story, they wouldn’t think “oh look how she repented”. They’ll think, “oh, I go to church so i can do that too and still be in Truth.” This isn’t the first time she’s said wreckless things in public.I think she’s a phony, materialistic Jezebel.
