Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Nas and Kelis You Can Hear On His New Track ‘Bye Baby’

Nas isn’t holding anything back on this next album. We already heard him put his feelings about his daughter in song and video, we’ve seen the album cover with the wedding dress, and now he’s airing all the laundry about his relationship with his ex-wife Kelis in a new track titled, “Bye Baby.”

There are no cryptic lyrics here, from references to her “I hate you so much right now” song to the demise of their relationship while she was seven months pregnant, it is absolutely clear who this song is about. Nas exposes Kelis’ daddy issues, lies, cheating, friends running their mouths about their divorce and the settlement he had to pay, and he also talks about the son they have together. It’s deep. And for fans of the ’80s/’90s group Guy, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the “Goodbye Love” sample.

    Is it just me or does someone who claims to “hate” his ex so much he really can’t seem to stop talking about her and how much pain he’s in? Seems to me someone is protesting a little too much lol. Nas is an amazing lyricist but self-aware he is not. If you hate this woman as much as you say you do, you wouldn’t feel the need to develop an entire album centered around the very person you “hate”. I would suggest either Nas get back with Kelis or get some therapy to sort through his issues. It’s bordering on unhealthy levels how much he isn’t willing to just let it go already

      When did he say he hated her? Hate is a strong word. I’ve never heard him disrespect her like that. I’m sure he doesn’t hate her and besides, he’s an artist and this is what they do. They incorporate aspects of their life into their art.

    I just thought I would say that Caught out there which is the song where she screamed “I hate you so much right now” came out in 2000 and she was not even married to Nas at the time. She said that was about her father. I just thought I would drop that lil tid bit. But they both have issues.

    I sat next to Kelis at church last sunday. She seems like someone trying to better her life. I don’t know what happened in their marriage, but Nas comes off as someone who likes being married, and still wants to work it out. I’m sure, if you hear Kelis side, it will be different. Hopefully, they figure it out. Their son is adorable.
