Back In The Day When I Was Young: Child Actors Who Aren’t So Little Anymore!
We’ve watched a lot child actors grow up right before our eyes (some make us realize just how old we are, lol) blossoming into beautiful young men and women. Let’s check out a few that we don’t get too see too often.
Parker McKenna Posey
Yes, that is Kady from My Wife & Kids. We’ve caught her on a few red carpets within the last year but she hasn’t done much acting since the show ended besides an appearance on iCarly a few years ago. That might be a good thing because she’s 15 and hopefully enjoying her high school years.
Yes, I was wondering what Little Nicky from Fresh Prince of Bel-air (and Buckwheat from The Little Rascals) had been up to. A quick Google search found him on Twitter (like so many of the rest of us) and he’s 21 years old now! He still lives in California and is a student at Cal State.
Ashli Amari Adams
CeCe from Parenthood is just as pretty now as she was when she was a little girl. Question for the tv lovers: Did you know that she played a student during the last season of Girlfriends when Joan went to cover her fiance’s class? Me EITHER! Anyway, Ashli is also a student right now in California and living that young 20 year old life.
“His glasses! He needs his glasses!” Remember the scene in My Girl when Vada was screaming at Thomas J’s parents at his funeral about him not having on his glasses? That totally still makes me tear up. Anyway, we didn’t see much of Anna Chlumsky after that because she hit puberty and she says, “Puberty is considered being overweight.” So she decided to have a regular life and she ended up going to college in Chicago and taking on regular jobs. In 2007, she started acting again in plays and she currently stars on HBO’s new series Veep.
Dee Dee Davis
Babygirl was probably “Uncle Bernie’s” favorite child on The Bernie Mac Show. We saw her briefly on CNN when Bernie passed back in 2008 when the cast members were on Larry King Live to share memories of him but that’s about it. She lives in her hometown of Chicago where she’s in high school and apparently enjoying a very normal life. I wonder if we’ll see her in front of the screen again.
Alright, this is a throwback for real! I know you guys remember Fletcher from The Bodyguard – he played Whitney’s on-screen son. Like the rest, we haven’t seen much of him but at 28, I can tell you that he graduated with dual degrees in television production and business finance. He worked at his father’s (retired NBA player Norm Nixon) real estate company after graduation as a mortgage broker but all he wants to do is act. In 2011, he had a role in the movie Prom and he’s hoping to get back into film full-time.
