Mo’Nique Spoofs Beyonce!

When the lights went up on the 2004 Awards and host Mo’Nique was onstage with a group of other plus-sized women, no one really knew what was about to happen. But when the music dropped and they went into a full dance routine to Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love,” no one looked more shocked than Beyonce.  Mo’Nique, through labored breathing, told Beyonce when it was over that they’d be working for a month on that dance. She also told Usher that moment was just for him.  Gotta love Mo’Nique!

Prettttty sure the T.I. Vs Diddy thing happened after the hip hop awards…not the BET awards, just saying

Are you serious??? Michael Jackson surprising James Brown on the BET Awards is not on here??? That is the most prominent moment ever!!! The two artists that made the music industry what it is today!! And they’re not on this list??? Shame on you.

2008 Ciara/Chris Brown performance. Best. Dance. Ever!!! No Not all of us are excited every year.

D’Angelo is performing right now, and though it feels good to me to see someone perform who can play an instrument AND sing, most of the audience is sitting there like a bunch of dead people. I’ve noticed that on several shows when someone of a higher caliber of talent appears, they just sit there like it’s something foreign to them. What a weird generation. Even Samuel L. Jackson’s rap was better than most of what inspires them to do that bouncing thing they do. What kind of dancing is that anyway…where you don’t move your feet?

I think they really need to retire the BET awards. Just let it go. It used to be good and just all around fun. They always had surprises up their sleeves to entertain people. Now it’s just awful. The same people get nominated every year, the same people win, and then don’t even bother to show up to accept the awards anymore. Not to mention only on BET do you have Gospel Singers get honored and play tribute during the show and then at the end have Wayne singing “I wish I could f**** every girl in the world”. HUH?! Of course I’m talking about two different genre’s here but all in all, BET lately seems to be throwing stuff together and trying to “shock” people instead of doing what it’s supposed to do and honor Black entertainers.

My favorite moment was when Chris Brown did the MJ tribute. That was the best MJ tribute I’ve seen in my life. My second favorite moment was when Monique did the Beyonce dance.

I have never watched a BET award show

  • Just saying!!

I don’t really care much for Blacks Embarrassing Themselves. I mostly watch TV One now but I guess I’ll watch the show to see if there has been a change.

haha @ Blacks Embarrassing Themselves. Sad but true.

SO…….we’re really going to leave out the all-time shocking, entertaining, awesome moment when The KING of Pop, Michael Jackson, showed up and laid the cape on James Brown, and did his signature dance??? NOTHING will ever top that!!! B)

    • IllyPhilly

I know, who made this list!?

    • Lese

That’s what I’m saying!! How are they goin to leave off the list, the two greatests entertainers of all time…that will forever be a greatest moment.
