‘Think Like a Man’ Part 2 Is Happening, Will You See It?

Hollywood cannot deny the box office success that was Think Like a Man, which is why they’re trying to create it with a sequel, The LA Times confirms.

Before the film even hit theaters, Will Packer was saying a sequel was already approved, but Screen Gems has just put out the official word on part deux, saying they have rehired Keith Merryman and David A. Newman to write the script.

Think Like a Man brought in $91 million in the United States alone after its opening in April, making it one of the year’s most profitable comedies thus far and also answering critic’s widely asked question of whether a film with a nearly all-black cast could perform well at the box office.

Beyond naming the screenplay writers, Screen Gems hasn’t let on about whether all of the actors from the first film will appear in the second. At the very least, I think most people are hoping Kevin Hart will reprise his role and considering he’s already on board for another flick from the studio, we’re pretty sure they recognize how he made the movie.

Nevertheless, for the success Think Like a Man had at the ticket counter, some women were less than enthused about part one, so given this news, will you see the sequel?

It was a good movie… fun and relatable. I would watch a sequel.

Tyler Perry needs to watch the first movie and this one so he can see that its possible to make a good movie without having to “tuck” his manhood in and run around dressed like a woman.

Already?? Dang, the other one just barely came out. Too soon…

As long as they don’t bring Gabrielle Union and her son….oops boyfriend back on the sequel

I actually liked the movie(i didn’t expect to) so yes, i’ll see a sequel. Not that i would have a choice if i didn’t want to. My mother and SiL would drag me.

I had low expectations for the film and was pleasantly surprised on how well the movie and book translated. I’m happy to see any black writer get his or her ideas moved to film, even if it isn’t life changing or Oscar worthy. I do hope that they don’t bring back Gabriel Union’s character. They were boring.

Just what the world needs… Another urban film about an issue that has no answer… What ever happened to the spike lee type films that had substance and meaning?

    • Coco J

I was gonna say that lol! But seriously, you are absolutely right…I never knew why I left the theater feeling unsatisfied after seeing this movie..but you hit the nail on the head…I would still see the sequel for the sake of entertainment though;)

Some people just like to complain.

This movie was an “urban” film. It was a simple romantic comedy like “Valentines Day” or “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”. The movie was relateable to everyone not just black people. Not every movie with black people has to be revolutionary or thought provoking. As long as it isn’t promoting coonery why can’t you and people like you just accept that its not your taste and that be it?

      • Anon

        was NOT an urban film*

  • http://twitter.com/MadameGigglez chopped it off!

    I still haven’t seen the original…

  • Coco J

Yes, I would see it…I would hope that it’s not as predictable as the first one…

  • Jozi

Yes!!! I’m so glad there will be a sequel. There needs to be more movies that star us on the big screen!

  • emily

    Why yes, of course.
