Expectant twin mommy Tamera Mowry-Housley has just joined People.com as their newest celebrity blogger and in her very first post, Tamera is spilling on the intimate moment she found out she was pregnant and the mixed set of emotions she experienced when she thought about the reality of being a mother.

“It took a while before the fact that I was pregnant settled in,” she wrote on Monday. “Once it did, I kept reciting to myself, ‘I’m going to be a mom. I’m going to be a mom.’ I will never forget the feeling that swept over me. I found myself pacing my room with excitement and experiencing a sense of joy I have never felt before.

“Once I got myself together, I immediately thought about how I would I tell my husband. I always wanted to do it in a creative way. I decided to text Adam a photo of four positive pregnancy tests — yes, you read right, FOUR positive pregnancy tests — and added, ‘HAPPY EARLY FATHER’S DAY!’

“Thirty minutes later, I still hadn’t heard back from him. I began to worry — was he in shock? I couldn’t wait any longer, so I called him and asked if he had seen his texts. He replied, ‘No’ and I happily told him to look. His response? ‘COOOL!!!’

Tamera said she took a pregnancy test after missing her cycle by just two days, but she noted that in hindsight she had been feeling really tired and crampy, which explains why she was quick to take a pregnancy test. After the worry of why Adam hadn’t responded to her texts went away, Tamera said a different type of worry set in.

“Once I called my husband, an interesting thing happened. The excitement died down and quickly turned into worry. ‘Is this normal?’ I thought. ‘Is this what being a parent feels like?’ Now that I knew I was pregnant, I became overwhelmed with so many emotions. I never knew how excited and overwhelmed you can feel at the same time.

“There are so many things to do and facts to find out. But not only that, so much information thrown at you all at once! How do I sift through it? I immediately downloaded iPhone apps and called my doctor and my mom. Now that I’m pregnant, where do I begin?”

Five months into her pregnancy with a little boy, Tamera’s no doubt figured out where to start by now, but it’s cool seeing her sift through the emotions so many new mothers have the moment they find out they’re expecting. Amidst the worry and anticipation, she hasn’t lost her sense of humor though. In her post, she cracked a joke about how people react to her husband’s job as a Fox news correspondent, covering fires, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, wars, and every other natural disaster you can imagine.

“Many people are terrified when they find out I married a man who works in dangerous places,” she wrote. “I simply respond with a smile and reply, ‘He loves his job and I think he’s s[w]exy when doing it.’ Hence, I am now knocked up. LOL!”

She’s so cute.

Based on her reality TV show, she and her husband have a ‘weird’ relationship………

  • Maldrie

Love them both but I always loved Tamera more and I’m so happy for her! I wonder if her baby will resemble her as well?

i love these twins i am exactly the same age as them and grew up watching them….so excited for Tamera….are twins able to have twins as well since it is supposed to be hereditary???

    • Anon

It normally skips a generation. They’re kids would be more likely to have twins than them.

I had a convo with two girls, one who birthed identical twins (one embryo that splits) and another who has a fraternal twin (from 2 diff egg/sp3rm combos).  Basically the fraternal twin “gene” is inherited and identical twins are a random occurrence. Although rare, anyone can have identical twins, regardless of family history. The only time fraternal twin genes “skip” generation(s) is when a fraternal twin boy has a child. He can’t make his female partner drop two eggs in the same month. If the fraternal twin dad had a daughter she could have fraternal twins (bc she can drop two eggs at the same time).  A fraternal twin woman could have fraternal twin daughters, who could in turn have fraternal twins and so on. In this case the twin “gene” never skipped a generation. Hope this helps.
