 Dr. Heathcliff  ”Cliff”  Huxtable (The Cosby Show) 

When sitcom dads are mentioned, whether they are black, white, purple or orange, Cliff Huxtable if definitely at the top of the list. Not only was he absolutely hilarious in his ridiculously amusing antics, but he positively portrayed the role of the black father in the media. He was educated, respected, a great husband, and an amazing father.

    The ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ show is still a favorite of mine…all those quirky characters. It was hilarious! That’s the only thing about shows with kids, though: they have a shorter run than other shows.

    I actually liked Sherman Hemsley’s role in ‘Amen’ better. He cracked me up as Deacon Ernest Frye.

      Yeah I liked the father-child relationship in Amen with Thelma and him rather than Lionel and him.

    Man, y’all put Mr. Brown at the back of this list because you couldn’t think of Bernie Mac and you needed to fill a spot.
    You mean to tell me the #1 no-nonsense parent of post-2000 television, who proudly followed the code of Big Mama, and took in three children out of Chi-Town’s projects and helped them have a better life couldn’t make this list but Mr. “This Is Your Granddaddy” made it? I call bull.
