You Could’ve Kept That: 9 Movie Remakes and Sequels That Shouldn’t Have Seen the Light of Day

Why Did I Get Married Too?

I’ve said this before, but I’m sorry, I have to say it again. The original Why Did I Get Married? was charming, funny, dramatic, and MAD entertaining. Maybe that’s why I was so amped about the sequel. However, the second movie gave me a damn headache. There were so many unnecessary twists and turns for every couple, the characters and their personalities changed for the worse, and in the end, all the drama Perry concocted wasn’t actually  resolved. Excuse me, but he death of one woman’s husband shouldn’t make people forget that their partners are having emotional affairs and are crazy as hell. And if there’s a third one in the making anytime soon, Mr. Perry and I are going to have to have a word with one another because a fork needs to be stuck in that.

In Scream 2, killing off Omar Epps and Jada Pinkett in the first 10 minutes WAS the whole point of doing it. They were INTENTIONALLY trying to perpetuate the stereotype because the whole series is a commentary on the whole slasher film genre.

I agree Eddie Murphy should have stopped after the first Nutty Professor, Gang Of Roses creator, director, producer should be punished, I don’t know why anyone w/ a brain would want a pt. II, and add My Baby’s Daddy to the list of the worst movies of all time. As for sequels, its really unfortunate when a pt. II is so terrible, it brings down the value of the first one.

Please, this is the list that was created? REALLY? I can think of SEVERAL OTHERS that should have made the list. This list is a mess.

Im sorry but this list sort of became VOID as soon as the writer even suggested that the craptastic Friday After Next was better than Next Friday. The Scream series was always conceived as a trilogy so the third was necessary to finish the story. The 4th (while entertaining) was the unecessary add on and why it was SO shocking that Sidney would actually have other family besides her mother and father is beyond me.

Good list, too many to choose from, The Bad Lieutenant with Nick Cage, was on at my buddy’s house, un-f–’g-watchable! Nick, you need a new agent, bro’! Call me!

“…if you’re a man, you can go ahead and skip over this one, but if you’re a fan of the show “Sex and the City…”

Um…I know for a fact that hundreds of thousands of men watched Sex and the City religiously, including my partner. It’s a little offensive that you imply that anyone who watched S&tC couldn’t be a man.

Like I said, I never saw the series, I never saw the first movie, but I liked this movie.

Can I add (Quite possibly the worst book to movie translation of all time…) “Queen of the Damned” to the list, seeing as how it was technically a sequel to “Interview with a Vampire” (Which wasn’t fantastic, but far and away better than that other POS.)?

Actually, enjoyed “Fast & the Furious 5″ set in Brazil with The Rock and Vin Diesel & it made about $150 million at the box office. “Scream 4″ was also surprisingly good, better than I expected, & it was just as scary as Scream 2.” I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. “Why Did I Get Married Too?” was great & Janet Jackson and Jill Scott gave exceptional performances, let’s end it there.

The classic opera “Carmen” did not star Dorothy Dandridge. “Carmen” , an opera with music by Georges Bizet, was written in 1875 for the stage, long before Dorothy Dandridge was even born. “Carmen Jones”, on the other hand, was a musical based on the opera “Carmen”. It premiered on Broadway in 1943 and was filmed in 1954 with Dorothy Dandridge. So “Carmen: A Hip-Hopera”, is not a remake of “Carmen Jones”. It is a new version of “Carmen”, and it doesn’t even use the original music.
