After it debuted in 2009, I don’t know anybody who hadn’t heard of “Jersey Shore,” hadn’t picked a favorite character (Pauly D), or who didn’t know what “GTL” stood for. It was kind of nice to see folks of the non-black persuasion prove that, hey, everyone acts a damn fool from time to time. These folks were fighting at the drop of a hat, hooking up like they were the last people on earth, and showing us all the fashion DON’TS (just look at the above picture). But it’s 2012, and with season six on its way, I really need MTV to pull the cancel card out on this show. After a while, the storyline stopped changing and people started carrying on lame rumors just to get folks to tune in. I can’t watch another season of Ronnie and Sam breaking up brutally to make up (at the disgust of their castmates and everyone watching), watching folks ho themselves out (sorry Deena, but it’s true) while in a drunken stupor, and watching people go to the club nightly. That s**t has to be getting old, because it’s getting old to watch.

    I would not shed a tear if every reality show just disappeared. Just cheaply produced crap for the mentally challenged. Hire writers, actors, directors, set designers, etc. and give us real entertainment!

    We here in SE NC couldnt agree more with cancelling Teen Mom. We’re so sick of Jenelle Evans and her BS and constantly being in the news down here its disgusting. If she was anybodyelse the damn courts would have already thrown her arse in jail for a year+. Im convinced 1/2 the crap she pulls to make the news is nothing more then a publicity stunt. Its nearly a running joke as to how long can Jenelle Evans go without making the news down here.. We’re sick of Jenelle and wish she’d take a long walk off Johnny Mercers Pier.

    Note to the writer: you need to turn the channel. Seriously. I don’t even recognize 3/4 of the shows you listed: The Game? 106 & Park? Teen Mom? This article says more about the utter garbage that you waste your time on than it does whether they need to stay on the air. I thought I watched too much TV but crap — I feel good now. There is not guarantee of a second life — this is all you have. STOP WATCHING CRAP.

    I think ALL reality shows should be cancelled. It seems to me that these show grasp at the lowest common denominator in our society. I find it very sad that more people vote for reality contestants than they do for President.

    but i guess if you said five black,mexican or asian then it would be perfect fime…cause that not racist…just white people are raciest. we have come to a point in time where we need to put aside the race card…yes everyone is sorry for slavery, and running people out from everyother countries. come on people grow up and stop using excuses from from before you were not even born. i have a bi-racial daughter and i really hope that these useful,out-of term, calling each other that word. i hope my daughter grows up she will live in a racial free society…life is already to hard. grow up to follow a “New Dream”. i really do hope we can overcome our differances now, and stop throwing the race card..my daughter has never used it and i am so proud of her..it is all how parents raise them. not trying to start a fight with anyone, it is just that this is getting real old and has been for a long time. i have dated girls from just about every background, it all about the personality and how they represent themselves. plus if everyone is always complaing about how bad they get treated due to race, buy a plane, train,car, boat…etc and go back to the absolute most wonderful country your great-great-great-great(plus more) grandparents was forced. i’m sure those countries and just as good as USA. dont whine unless you are going to do something about it.if not then live,laugh,learn,and love in our wonderful country. i fought in the military for 7 1/2 years before getting injuried twice. and i learned early on that everyone created equel..it’s what you do with your life that that make you as a person, not the color of ones skin. in the words of rodney king…”cant we all just get along? reallynot trying to start a fight, but how long are people go to use this as an excuse. This is for all races, including white, live in the present and not the past, and improve yourselves to become major influance’s on your community.

    What would happen if people stopped watching tv? Terrible things like, people would start to develop more friendships, build communication with family, pay attention to their kids, let their eyesight come back, IQs go up, kids would go outside and play, all kinds of crazy things like that.

    Do away with all those so-called “reality shows” mainly because not one of them is “real.” All of the participants have agents or agendas for getting famous! Moreover, the next “crop” of reality stars are already being “groomed” on shows like Dance Moms and Toddlers and Tiaras! Everybody wants fame but as Debbie Allen’s character Lydia so deftly pointed out… fame costs! If you still think these “reality” shows are real, I recommend you read a book called “Reality Bites Back” by Jennifer L. Pozner.
